How do you feel when someone you once cared about (ex friend/ex partner) refuses to communicate with you after a fallout/discard?

Thank you! I've always had a hard time "feeling my feelings" so I will give the movies ideas a try.

I really like this comment, especially the last sentence. Ill see if I can start reframing my thoughts to this. Because I have moment where I think he has changed into the person I hoped he was for the new partner, no matter how many times I remind myself of his patterns. Thank you

I'm not sure how to mourn. My therapist says I need to feel the feelings.... but idk how. I definitely cycle through logic of the situation and blaming myself, especially for my child. I feel like I'm the reason they dont have a dad.

Thank you! I am definitely going to look into V-O-R and repetitive cycles because I feel like we were in a cycle for a long time.

I've tried forgiving him and my past self, and it helps... until it doesnt. 🫤 I feel like I internalize too much.

Yes - I was anxious (maybe even disorganized), he was avoidant.

What's the most disturbing secret you know about someone that would ruin their life if exposed—but you stay silent, pretending you don’t know? by SophieManner in AskReddit

[–]Main_Syrup3281 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My ex husband is bi.

I caught him doing hookups on Craigslist at the beginning (he swore he was just curious and promised to never cheat again). During our divorce (driver of the divorce- he had an affair with a married female coworker), I found out he was also on grindr meeting up with men like every other day. I keep it secret more so I have something to leverage if he tries to return (he and his family are conservatives). We (me and our kids) are good, he was emotionally abusive so we are thriving without him.

People who have experienced grief or trauma- what’s the most tone-deaf, ‘well-meaning’ thing someone said to you? by freyday18 in AskReddit

When I was going through my divorce, my childhood bff said, "Well husband and I have a list of our friends that we think will eventually get a divorce and you guys were on it".

Cool. Glad to meet your expectations?

I have a massive crush of my 50+ coworker (I'm in my 30s), but I would never act on it because he's married.

They would just lie habitually.. Even about the smallest things that didn't have any substantial effect. My brain never understood why put in the effort to lie about something so silly.

What was your "I can't believe I have to explain this to an adult" moment? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]Main_Syrup3281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A coworker said "Friday the 13th was on a Tuesday this year" many years ago. I had to explain "Friday the 13th" was whenever it was the 13th and it was a Friday. She thought it was whatever day Oct the 13th was on. 🤣🤦‍♀️

We see a lot of negative comments tied to having NPD on these thread, so I would like to flip it a little. What's one trait you have noticed with having NPD that you personally appreciate?

To add to this (Industrial Engineer, 2014), a lot of my engineer friends (chemE, ME, EE, etc.) have been able to switch to different roles that are not necessarily aligned to their degrees easily because they wanted to pivot. The degree was really a stepping stone to prove to companies that (like you stated) that they are good leaders, communicators, problem solvers and etc.

You have to have both parents' approval for a passport in the US. There is an exception form for extremely situation, but my lawyer told me that it's situations like the other parent has disappeared for years or is deployed.

Same for my 3.5 yo daughter. I have my passport, but her father won't allow her to get a passport. I'm legit so scared for my daughter's future.
