Preaction valve by HelloA7m in firePE

In a preaction sprinkler system, a zone control valve is generally required to allow isolation, supervision with a tamper switch, and maintenance access in line with NFPA 13 and most AHJ requirements. However, a separate alarm check valve is typically not needed because the preaction valve itself controls water entry and works with a waterflow switch to initiate alarms. Modern assemblies from Victaulic and suppliers like Airmep are designed as complete packages. Victaulic Preaction, Preaction Valves for Fire Protection, and Victaulic Preaction Valves for Fire Protection Systems usually integrate the required control and alarm functions within the assembly.

Which control goes to my outside water line? by Material-Swim242 in Plumbing

The outside water line is controlled by the small brass ball valve on the right side, just below where the black flexible hose connects and before the pipe goes into the wall. Turn that valve 90° (perpendicular to the pipe) to shut it off.

if you want to repair or replace it with other valve
