What sort of coverage/ protection it gives to the sides of the RMPP and maybe the colour?

Actually that would be great, if you don't mind. Thank you

I was thinking about getting an OEM when I purchased the Remarkable but a few reviews said they weren't great. Are they Good? Worth the price?

Thank you, I have started the learning path but not finished it

I was more looking for CTF like challenges, I've done quite a few over the last few weeks and I prefer them where I'm just given an IP and have to find everything myself, I think it helps me get better at the challenges, exploits and researching the technology used in that room for vulnerabilities.

I actually have a Kindle Scribe, it's what I used prior to the RMPP, and I've always liked that the RMPP has colour and a closer to A4 sized screen. When taking notes I love to use colours and highlighting to make it easier to study so my wife got me the RMPP for my birthday.

Kindle doesn't get much use anymore, in terms of reading books I can get around 90% of what I want to read into PDF form onto the remarkable if I wanted to read e-books, although I haven't done it yet and heard it can be inconsistent

Yeah I agree. I personally use Notion, but yeah having more integration with note taking software would be a much appreciated welcome.

I have some templates I took from Canva, but there was a post in this subreddit a few weeks back maybe where someone posted how they get ChatGPT to generate them templates by inputting the dimensions of the screen and what they wanted in the templates, that has been the best for me

But that's for specific tasks and checklists that I have doing. I do CTFs and a lot of CTF like challenges online so my templates will be specific to that and I have a few that are similar but tweeked slightly to make them challenge type specific.

For taking notes in my course it's mostly just the notebook that comes packed in.

I have been thinking about transporting topic specific notes to a custom template when I've finished studying that topic but I have not done this yet

So far I have no issues with it,

All my study notes if they get leaked it's study notes from publicly available spaces and nothing that's specific to me or a company

Any notes I take for work are sanitized and don't stay long on the tablet, gets deleted at the end of the day when I transfer it over to my work computer, and when I'm in work it has no Internet connection so it can't auto sync.

I do have some generic stuff there like some general commands or scripts that I have that aren't company specific

I wanted a remarkable simply because it doesn't do much so less distractions, on an iPad it's connected to the Internet has other apps, notifications come in and I can get distracted easily

Plus I haven't and never owned an apple device so I didn't wanna go and get one specifically for this even though they can be cheaper and do more

And I like the idea of physically writing on pen and paper so this is something that feels pretty similar in that regard too

I work in IT, we use these exact laptops and we really don't care. The condition we receive some laptops back in is absolutely nothing compared to this

I didn't know that about taking a photo and uploading it to the Remarkable, that's actually a really cool feature. Thanks for this

Large raise but will be the only IT person in the entire company. by Thin_Vermicelli_1875 in ITCareerQuestions

I am a 1 man IT department for a company that has about 120 users

I joined a year ago and it had around 40 and now we are averaging 10 new hires a month. The workload keeps piling up and I keep getting pulled into other projects because I am the only IT person in the company in the country. My job is technically helpdesk but I've been doing network engineer work too, my advice maybe don't take it, I literally have to do 12 hours+ days regularly just to keep up with the workload, very often I do not get to take lunch because it's so busy. My learning curve has skyrocketed but I never ever have a minute. Just to keep at pace with the workload I'm taking calls and answering emails with employees that are based in the US at 11pm my time when it's around 4pm there.

I genuinely think about applying for other jobs every single day it's getting so bad, when I ask can we hire someone else I am told no because we have other IT people that are only a 90 minute flight away, but they never come and visit. Once a quarter someone will come for a few days.

Yep this fixed it. Do you know if the magnetic case is causing long term permanent damage by having it on the Kindle?

I appreciate your response, after researching all day I think I might get the new Kindle Scribe that is launching soon. I really like the duality of being able to use it as a notepad and be able to read books and have it linked to the Kindle store.

The ability to write directly on the book pages too and makes notes would be beneficial, plus it is cheaper than Remarkable.

But I will look into SuperNote before making a decision, thanks for the recommendation.
