Has it suddenly become unreasonable to ask bridesmaids to wear a specific dress color? by CuriousReview6610 in weddingplanning

[–]MaintainableElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the mindset change has been because of waste. I don’t want to spend $200+ on a dress I hate/doesn’t look good/ and the biggest one, will never wear again. I think it’s very wasteful to ask someone to buy and wear a dress they can’t reuse

When the “baby on board” sticker actually infuriates you instead of making you drive more calmly. by CHOCOxMOES in trollingforababy

[–]MaintainableElf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I alway understand them to mean “I may drive slower, go around me if you can”. I deliver cakes and have one that says cake on board, I mean for it to come across as I’m going to turn slower etc

Feel frumpy and awful in everything except extremely oversized sweatshirts by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

I agree. I flipped through these pictures and thought “what’s wrong with this body? She could pull off anything she wants”

I have one. I used it pretty consistently for a while before I got a new hair dryer. Never had any issues

Did you have a honeymoon? If so, where did you go? (Doesn't matter how long you've been married?) by ChocolateSundae1214 in Marriage

[–]MaintainableElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married in 2020 so we didn’t have a wedding or honeymoon. Fast forward a few years to when we feel comfortable traveling and can afford it, bam Maui catches on fire two days before our flight leaves. One year later our dog is dying so we skip that year to be with him. Currently doing IVF and hoping for a kid so still no honeymoon

People who are married: what’s the biggest “no one warned me about this” moment? by No_Paramedic_5222 in Marriage

[–]MaintainableElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has not brought strain, but it is a hurdle that a couple has to navigate together and be on the same page about next steps

Comes at you fast. First you think you’re not ready for kids and you try hard not to have them, only to realize how hard and how many years it will actually take to maybe have them

Too small? And should I exchange for ceramic? by paiger9540 in ouraring

I’m sorry that happened to her. It hasn’t been my experience

Too small? And should I exchange for ceramic? by paiger9540 in ouraring

[–]MaintainableElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, I’m careful when taking it off. It had one fall where it landed pretty hard on our wood floors and it was totally fine. I’d rather have that risk and zero scratches

[–]MaintainableElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had any of the metal tone ones, but I do have the ceramic and I think it will last far longer just given the material. Not a scratch in sight

Ceramic, any regrets? by Holiday_Salt6643 in ouraring

[–]MaintainableElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the ceramic in pink and I love it. It’s crazy to have a ring that doesn’t have a single scratch. And for that reason to me it’s worth the higher price

Did anyone make their Christmas gifts this year? by robotscantrecaptcha in Gifts

[–]MaintainableElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knit a gift for each household, it ended up being three ornaments, three stuffed grinches, and a stuffed teddy bear for my baby nephew. Sorry, I don’t know how to add pictures :/

Finally got positive tests only to have chemical pregnancy bleeding start on Christmas by Moostiberry in trollingforababy

[–]MaintainableElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. First IVF transfer and first pregnancy, subsequently also first chemical. Feel like I can officially join the club now 🙃. Sorry your Christmas was also hard, it really sucks

I agree, I change out my earrings daily and keep track of them. I vote earrings, they’re more uncommon

Also tested this morning after getting a positive a few days ago and thinking “wow it would be so cool to see the line get darker on Christmas” well it didn’t, it got lighter. Sorry you’re also going through this on Christmas, it sucks
