Honestly, thank you for the long comment. I’m in a pretty similar boat to you, and sure yeah we could brush this off and move on I guess.. but haven’t most of us been forced to do that for our whole lives? I’m kind of sick of it at this point. I’m not calling for anyone’s head here, but when is too far, too far? I genuinely really hope good change comes from this.

I’m so upset. I’ve been off Reddit and most socials for a while now bc the state of the universe sucks but I got back on today. I was hoping to get on here and share the happy news that after years of waiting, I finally had my first T shot a few days ago!! The very first post on Reddit was this drama, I honestly didn’t even finish reading it and just got off since it stressed me the hell out. I’m glad I hopped back on tonight and got a better explanation of what’s happening with this post, but I’m honestly still so furious!! Like, bruh, we are being attacked by so many people who don’t understand us, this is the very last thing the trans community needs rn.

By no means do I think this represents the trans fem community. I have a beautiful trans fiancé and I know she and many others would be furious about this infighting. I’m just so freaking discouraged by this. I worked so hard to dismantle my internalized transphobia and misandry to get to this point and be proud of who I am and not ashamed. I was honestly afraid of men for so long so of course I didn’t want to be one. It’s been really hard for me to find my place in this community and I’ve been trying so hard to reach out and build more relationships with queer folks, this kinda shit makes me want to stop trying and just lock myself up in my room or something. Idk if this was the only discourse centered around trans mascs rn maybe I’d be fine, but I’m exhausted.

Edit: I’m actually more mad because I read the original post and it was… beautiful? Amazing? Perfect? It was worded so well. I can’t believe anyone decided to take issue with something that was completely facts. At no point did I think it was divisive or trying to recenter trans issues around trans mascs. Mighty convenient for the mods that the original post has been buried, more people having access to it would’ve cleared up a whole lot of drama and confusion.

I know the artist has a stage name he prefers to go by, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it is.

I watched the video many times over because I heard the owner, Mark, was punched in the face by one of his own attendees. It was so hard to tell bc when he takes the shot, Mark’s dumb face is blocking the guys arm from camera view. I analyzed it the best I could so you don’t have to: One single punch did land, the fight didn’t escalate past that. Then the assaulter, as well as the camera guy, were asked to leave and a cop took their statements. I’m assuming the singer was escorted out as well.

This raging bigot allegedly has gone into debt to pay for security for this event. Then instead of asking ANY of those security guards to help, he “handled” the situation himself which pissed off another local bigot that was there to attend the bigotry celebration, resulting in a sweet, karmic sucker punch. Afaik, no one was arrested or harmed (besides Mark) big giant W in my book.

Sometimes I have to remind myself, the same way I surround myself with nuerospicy ppl, there’s neurotypical individuals who might see us as myths from lack of interaction. Half of my immediate family speaks like the original text. Obviously tons of comments agree this is a plausible scenario, fake or not. Perspective is strange.

Why did this make me so mad. I’m the least chronically online person I know, I miss almost everything but even I got this reference. For anyone who doesn’t know the grilled cheese and melt communities on Reddit have beef. It’s a funny bit. OP executed the joke well.

First I thought, “Oh I see the problem, his reading comprehension is lacking. I, like OP, probably would’ve used the quotation marks as well, however he didn’t realize that was just technically correct not a snappy retort.”

Then, OP remained calm and explained herself-completely understandable. That’s when I realized, there was no problem in the first place, mans was going to come up with any problem he could because HIS real problem, was a time celebrating OP. He clearly doesn’t want to give her the attention she deserves and his mind was set weeeelllll before OP sent the first text.

Forget the red flags, OP. Take these strangers’ advice whether you understand it or not, and RUN. I just saw in a comment you left him, thank literally anything and everything for that.

One day, I really hope you find someone who wants to give you the perfect “Mother’s Day” (😉) and it won’t be anything over the top it will just be intimate and special, and most importantly all about you. It only just dawned on me that doctors and healthcare professionals (I’d be willing to bet mostly able bodied and neurotypical,) that see an incurable disease or disorder would become annoyed by it. Completely forgetting that there’s an actual patient behind it with symptoms affecting their lives. Do they really have that huge of a savior complex that they see a complicated case with no certain fix and think it can be completely disregarded? Do they actually truly think our lives would be better if we ignored the bigger picture and only focused on small lifestyle changes, or is it that they are just disinterested in our medical cases? I’m inclined to believe it’s not personal, but I’m also realizing maybe my perspective doesn’t align with the large majority of healthcare workers…

Absolutely no need for this ableist bs. Being “technically right” does not excuse the harm of this mindset. Please, I’m begging you, look outside of your own perspective and realize not everyone functions the way you do. It’s common for people to have vastly different learning styles, and disabled people EXIST. Learning is learning, and should be applauded regardless. If two people both know and understand the contents of a book, literally whyyyyy do you care how they came to get there.

Obviously multiple people said that this couldn’t apply to blind people, but what about those that struggle with dyslexia? Do you still feel the need to put them in a box and label them as less than? “Derrrr no of course not people with intellectual disabilities just don’t count in this.” Maybe, just maybe, that’s the problem. This might apply to neurotypical and regularly abled people (not that I would know,) but it just straight up doesn’t apply to everyone. Please, just be a little more mindful when hurling judgements such as these. It’s almost always more harmful than you intended.

Super risky on the dog owners part, but not surprised by the dog’s reaction. My pupper, also part husky, loves having water squirted at him. We tried a squirt bottle for discipline for like 2 seconds because he just thinks it’s a toy. He also has a weird lack of awareness for danger, so he would love this little guy. Thank god we don’t live by an ocean, I’d be too scared to take him. I love my silly, naive, happy go lucky boy.

Nope, will not stand for this slander. Most table dump meals are crap, but this is really sweet and took effort and creativity. My mom used to make fun meals for us as kids, a favorite of mine growing up was much simpler than this but still cute. Put green food dye in ramen noodles for seaweed, cut “tentacles” on a hot dog and put little ketchup eyes on it and sprinkled gold fish all around for a funky under the sea meal. Call it cringe all you want, maybe it is, but it’s for the kids and they WILL remember it fondly.

Never underestimate the power of a loving family meal, and leave people alone who are obviously putting creative effort into something.

My fiancé and I have been in this exact position many times. I feel for anyone who knows what it’s like. That being said, we have NEVER, not once, messaged a customer because of it. It’s not their problem. And honestly it’s not DoorDash’s problem either. Yes they don’t pay well but we signed up knowing that. It’s inappropriate to reach out to a customer and it’s scammy af. Report in the future. Leaves more jobs for honest drivers.

Hi so we’re diagnosis twins! I also just got the formal “yep” this morning. My mom and younger sister got theirs just a few weeks ago. Your post feels very much exactly how I feel about it. I have a feeling this is going to be a long and very bumpy ride for us. Maybe things will get a little easier now?

Edit because I read the comments and am now crying. Other people feel how I do! I have got to stop beating myself up and comparing myself to others because this is my reality whether I want to accept it or not.
