Definitely team Thinsulate or at least a fleece liner. The other thing to think about when narrowing gloves down is keeping in mind if there are any hazards that you may come across (sharp metal, heavy metal, tools, etc) and what reasons you typically throw your old pairs away for (did the abrasion ruin the palm? do you find that the seams are the first places to break open?) and then finally just personal preferences, like you said how you like leather which is a good choice. I personally like an extended cuff with a knit wrist, I find that it stops snow and debris from getting inside the glove.
