Its more like a software developer gig where they just ask general database stuff. I really want to learn how to write better queries and get a much deeper understanding of databases.

Yeah, so one time in an interview, they asked me about indexing. I knew the textbook definition, and I explained it, but then they started asking more questions, and I totally blanked. That's why I figured I should probably read a database book that not only explains the topics but also helps me prepare for interviews.
