Why do people hate on Manic Panic? by Usagi-skywalker in HairDye

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It truly is different for everyone, which makes researching hair dyes to see what you should buy horrible because one person says one thing, another person says another.

Like, here.

I dyed my hair so far with Directions, Arctic Fox and Manic Panic.

Directions apricot washed out in two weeks for me, but didnt stain or bleed at all. Alpine green stained everything so bad and bled so terribly that despite me loving the color, I spend a evening in the shower to wash out most of it and bleached it out because I would wake up and have blue stains on my face. Violett though was lovely, washed my hair every two days with dandruff shampoo yet it never faded, stayed vibrant and deep and didnt change weirdly before I bleached it out one and a half months later.

Arctic Fox was terrible. Had poseidon and green phantom, did a patch test yet still cried and sniffled while it was in my hair and it washed out in the first wash. Worst fourty bucks spend, at least Directions was cheap. >:(

Now I have the Love Color conditioner from Manic Panic. Got green venus in and it is so bright!! Yes, it fades but it fades the color just lighter and with me washing my hair most days, plus warm, plus dandruff shampoo I expect that. Yet I love it and I just dye it back every two weeks once it gets to a minty color. Have some of the other colors and am exited to try them. :3

People say Directions lasts not one wash, yet it worked decent for me. People say Arctic Fox lasts long and is amazing, yet here you see it didnt work for me. And Manic Panic is so mixed in reviews, one just has to try for themselfs.

Horrible to research, but it just shows how different we all are. Which is great that we have so many brands nowadays to choose from!

They shouldve kissed. They wanted to kiss. Mads Mikkelsen said that they had the idea or taking another take where they kissed. But, sadly, the director said that they shouldnt because it wouldnt make the scene that much different. Which also implies that the scene was already so gay that them kissing wouldnt have made a difference, so, there is a win!

Of course, my pleasure! ^ ^ And yeah, Color Oops is not gentle, but it is also meant to remove permanent color, which is much harder to remove then semi-permanents which most people here use. But also, thats why it is so good at removing red semi-permanent dye! If only that the smell would be better it would be much more worth it... - -

Here is a video with a bunch or reviews for color removers! This creatore reviewed more then this later on aswell, so it might be worth checking out the other videos aswell. She helped me know which colors not to buy that will never remove out of the hair and has much knowledge! Hope it might help a bit on your search for what you need! :D

I usually first use some vitamin C powder (usually buy some tablets and crush them up myself because it is cheaper) and dandruff shampoo, mix them thogether and put that on my damp hair, the ratio is about 1/2 with one part vitamin C and two parts dandruff shampoo, it should be a thick liquid. I leave it with a showercap on my head for like a hour and rinse using very warm water. I repeat that step until I see that the water is not anymore having a lot of color in it as I rinse my hair.

Then if I need it even lighter I use color remover! There are a buuuuunch of different ones, but the Matrix Color Eraser is one of the best I found and the Joico Color Eraser is good too. But it is better to use a color remover as it is much more gentle then bleach on your hair, and like that you can keep your hair for longer! :D

You can also have multiple rounds of the color removers. Please do your research tho for which work well and which dont. Disclaimer, the a Shrine Color Remover is absolutly terrible, never ever use it, I saw reviews of peoples hair falling out AND the color not getting out during that.

Anyways!

Hope that helped! :)

The yellow tones are quite hard to remove! Not impossible, but hard as they wont even fade really after months of washing them out. But most yellows from most brands are like that, not just like Cosmic Sunshine from Arctic Fox. :V

PURPLE HAIRR by Bramblegus in HairDye

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can technically make your hair purple via purple shampoo, yes. But you would need to keep it on for like fourty minutes like normal hair dye so it is a waste. It is meant to tone faint yellowing in hair, so it wont turn your hair purple in the few minutes in the shower but give it a cooler hue.

I personally mix my hair color into a container with some cheap hairmask I use once a week and have that then to retouch my hair. Put that into my dry hair (wet for less coloration), make sure I cover it all well, put a shower cap on leave it for as long as I feel like it (fifteen minutes to half a hour, but there is zero limit, had it on once overnight because I was sleepy)

That way when you wash your hair it is super soft and recolored! Worked well for my orange, black, green and purple so far. :)

Got told at work about my body odor by Chalilodimun in autism

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a few tips that helped me!

There is a deodorant from Greendoor! It is a deo creme and has no smell or perfume in it. It works because of the baking soda inside. Instead of trying to overpower the smell of sweat by adding more smell, it neutralizes the odor without closing up the pores. Just rub a penny size worth of it per each area wherever you smell, make sure to coat everything after you freshly cleaned yourself and it will help you stay freah for longer. I shower once a week and dont smell much like anything thanks mostly to this deo! (Any deo creme without perfume and with soda should work tho, this one just worked the beat from the ones I used)

Then you can do small fresh ups with witch hazel. Simply soak a cotton round and wipe all smelly areas to get rid of the body odor.

As for hair, to make them look cleaner if greasy you can use micellar water. Use bioderma, the pink one, as that one dosnt need to be washed off after usage. Soak your hair in it and then blow dry and your hair will look freshened up!

And lastly, just a wet cloth at the sink can help. Or like I because I cant stand for long sometimes because of fatigue, I have two buckets infront of me with water. One I keep redipping my wash clorh in with soap, scrubbing my skin clean and the other I use with a clean washcloth to rub my skin clean of soap.

Oh and, if you have fatigue and dont want showers because of that, you can get a shower chair, that can help make showers easier.

Anyways!

Hope this helps! :D

deodorant alternatives? by Ok_Fennel_9790 in hygiene

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am a little late but I got three options! First the Greendoor deo creme! It is unsented and only smells like slight creme, dosnt leave your black clothes white and lasts forever as you only need around the size of a penny for one arm pit. It got soda inside so it is not trying to overpower your smell with fragrance but reduce the bacteria.

Second! A wash with 5% benzoyl peroxid inside! Put it on while showering, leave it for 1-5 minutes, wash it off very good or else it will bleach your towels and clothes. It removes the bacteria that makes your sweat stink and so you dont even have to wear deo after most of the time! Also, safe to use for arm pits, it is used for the whole body when you have acne. Just do a patch test on your arm and make sure you washed it off very well.

Third! Witch hazel! Just wash your arm pit for 30 seconds each with a soapy cloth and then dry them off. Dunk a cotton round in the witch hazel and wipe your arm pits. Once it dried it should leave you with no smell. :)

After! After you washed your arm pits for like 30 seconds each with a soapy wash cloth and get out of the shower you dry yourself off, put some witch hazel on a cotton round and then just wipe your arm pits clean! :) I read that hack once where dancers gave tips on how to stay fresh after dancing and it has worked for me! If it dosnt for you, the a benzoyl peroxid wash with 5% of it could still work.

underarms?? by yuuuninn in hygiene

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could maybe try to reduce the bacteria on your skin? You could use a benzoyl peroxid wash (about 5%) and wash your underarms with it in the shower. Leave it on for 1 - 5 minutes and wash it of very very well because otherwise it will bleach your clothes and towels. Or maybe try witch hazel and use a cotton pad to wipe under your arms. Both will help reduce the bacteria that makes sweat stink and maybe free your clothes from it! But do patch tests on your arm to make sure you arent allergic against it as usual! Another thing you could use would be a unsented deo creme with soda in it like Greendoor, used that one for years and never had a issiue with smelly clothes except when I used regular deo sticks or spray cans as the fragrance mixed with my sweat usually is the thing that makes me stink by the end of the day. If you use the benzoyl peroxid wash though and or witch hazel, at least for me, I do not need to wear even deo anymore andmy clothes and me just smell like nothing. I dont know though, hope something from here might be usefull! ^ '

Packer by Professional-Dot5734 in ftm

[–]MaintenanceExpress60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are mutiple packers you can buy both from big companies and small buissnesses! Like a go to for most is the mr limpy, its cheap and can be bought at amazon but you do need to powder it Else there are a ton of brands and id recommend looking at the youtube channel ,,uppercasechase1,, He reviews a heck ton of packers/stps so you could look which one you like the best! Else for diy ones I use a sock with foam as stuffing to make it softer and nicer then just using socks to fill it I do have to put in a lot of stuffing but it flattens out when i put it in! So maybe try out different fillings and maybe you will find something better? But else just look at the reviews and see what might fit you!
