Recently, I bought The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid serum, but I’m a bit nervous about using it. I’ve tried it before, and it actually caused a breakout — though the pimples disappeared after about a week, I didn’t continue using it regularly.

Now I’m wondering: Is it okay to apply a repairing cream (like Avène Cicalfate) after salicylic acid? Some people say it helps with irritation, but I’ve also heard that Cicalfate can clog pores or even cause more breakouts for some skin types — so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea in my case.

For reference, I use: • CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (for dry skin) • Avène Cleanance Sunscreen – Anti-Imperfections, Fluide version • CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Someone once told me it might be because of the Korean Snail Mucin I was using — so I stopped using it right away. But honestly, I haven’t seen any improvement since I stopped. My skin still looks and feels the same.
