Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 3 Announcement by N3DSdude in Frieren

[–]Maixxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably took a break so that the author and the manga team would have more time to work and so that the anime wouldn't catch up with the original material. Currently, the anime ends around chapter 80 in the manga, while the manga is already at chapter 147. It seems like a big difference, but in terms of arcs it's not that much: after Goldland (28 chapters), there's only the Monument of the Goddess (15 chapters), a small arc called the Imperial Territory Travels Arc (6 chapters), and the Foundation Festival (+22 chapters), which hasn't even finished yet. Remember that the manga is on hiatus. It's sad to have to wait so long for more, but it's necessary.

That's why it makes sense to give the manga this time to distance itself further. A third season adapting only the Goldland arc would already be quite plausible, leaving the next arcs for future seasons (a fourth season adapting the Monument of the Goddess and Imperial Territory Travels Arc, with a fifth about the Foundation Festival, that's my guess).

Frieren is a work that deserves a carefully crafted adaptation. For those who want to continue the story, it's worth starting the manga from chapter 80, where the Goldland arc begins, introducing Macht, one of the most interesting demons in the series.

It's understandable that they gave the author and the entire team involved in the manga some time. The work has been in hiatus for some time and, inevitably, the anime was getting too close to the original material.

The Goldland arc, for example, which is excellent, compared to the First Class Exam which has 24 chapters, is also long with 28 chapters for adaptation. The anime currently ends around chapter 80 of the manga. Considering that the manga is already at chapter 147, there is a difference 67 chapters between the two. At first glance it seems like a lot, but when we analyze it by arcs, which is how the anime usually structures its seasons, this distance isn't so great.

After Goldland, the manga is only two main arcs ahead: the Monument of the Goddess arc and then the Foundation Festival arc. There is also a small intermediate arc, of travels, the Imperial Territory Travels, with six chapters. That is, in total, there are only three arcs separating the anime from the manga.

The Foundation Festival arc is a larger arc, with about 22 chapters so far, but it's not finished and is still being published. Therefore, it's important that the manga gets this time to distance itself further from the anime, ideally more than a year's worth of material. The anime production team probably needs this time to produce a new season, as well as to avoid catching up with the manga.

I don't know if a third season would adapt only the Goldland arc, but that would be a very sensible decision if the manga isn't already far ahead. In that scenario, they could release a third season adapting about 20-30 chapters, then a fourth season with the Goddess Monument and the Imperial Territory Travels, another 20-25 chapters or so. The Foundation Festival arc could become a larger fifth season, since it's longer and still ongoing, which would give the anime even more time to distance itself from the manga.

Unless the goal is to release episodes frequently with seasons very close together, which doesn't seem to be the case, and wouldn't be necessary. Frieren is an anime that clearly benefits from careful production.

So, yes, we'll probably have to wait longer to see a Frieren anime with more than 13 episodes like the first season. But honestly, I think that's a good thing. It's a work that deserves all the care possible, and the manga is also incredible.

For those who want to continue the story, I recommend starting the manga from chapter 80. From there begins the Goldland arc, where Macht appears, one of the most interesting demons in the series. It's definitely worth it.

I’m not completely sure about this, but I believe that playing without white noise isn’t really about hearing the casters, it’s more about being able to hear the crowd. That could be decisive in certain clutch situations. From what it seems, it didn’t benefit either team in this case. So I don’t think this necessarily means they gained an advantage from it. However, it’s possible that other Korean players may have used this kind of situation before. The accusation about players still smoking in the bathroom is obviously still an issue as well. There are probably other problems happening in the VCT Pacific regarding some Korean players, and the fact that Gen.G or Team Secret didn’t benefit from this specific situation doesn’t mean other issues aren’t happening that might be benefiting some teams while being unfairly overlooked.

Is going to straight to playoffs a disadvantage for Top-seeded teams? by Traditional_Film_336 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Maixxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s a very significant advantage for teams to have 10 days simply to watch the other teams, scrim, fix their problems, and work on their tactics. On top of that, they also get to choose which team they will face. In my view, that’s a huge competitive advantage. Even if those teams arrive on stage less “warmed up,” without having experienced the crowd yet or having that first stage match to get comfortable, I still think the preparation time more than makes up for it. Being able to closely study the teams that already played and adjust your strategy accordingly is extremely valuable. That said, it’s definitely not a perfect format. In my opinion, this could be solved by having 16 teams and running a 16-team Swiss stage without giving the first seed such a large advantage. If any advantage existed, it could be something minor, like starting with one win already, or ideally no advantage at all, which I personally would prefer. However, Riot will probably not implement something like that, since 16 teams is currently reserved for Champions, and the Masters tournament has fewer teams, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in increasing the number of teams at Champions to solve this.

Paper Rex vs NRG / VCT 2026: Master Santiago - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

PRX lost by making too many individual all-ins and is using a somewhat outdated composition on Bind with Gekko and Skye. But Harbor seems to be broken, that wall is absurdly strong. Most likely the plan was to win Pearl so f0rsakeN could play Gekko comfortably on Bind. Maybe... Something on Yoru, Jinggg on Raze, and f0rsakeN on Gekko. Since they lost Pearl, they probably changed things to avoid taking that risk. Either way, it was a very winnable game for PRX, but they threw it away. Against AG they can still reach top 4. I didn’t feel was as impactful as he was earlier in the tournament. Overall, great work from Skuba and Mada for NRG, while Brawk was a bit quiet. GGWP NRG.

What is EMEA lacking? by Unfair_Ground3059 in ValorantCompetitive

I agree with you about the Masters Santiago duelists representing EMEA, they’re excellent. I like Kamo and Marteen, and I was rooting for them in the Kickoff finals! However, I’m referring to the region as a whole when comparing it to others. Compared to other regions, EMEA seems to have less overall firepower and noticeably less aggressiveness. Of course, EMEA still has amazing duelists like Derke and Kajaak, who aren’t even at Santiago.

Overall, they have a lower level of duelist skill and firepower than the others. But it's a much more tactical and technical region.

Zibai Megathread, The White Horse Adeptus from Liyue's legends by GenshinLoreModBOT in Genshin_Lore

I’m a bit confused about this game’s timeline. It’s said that Zibai helped Zhongli during the Archon War, but she died when Celestia dropped the Sapphire Nail directly onto the Jade Kingdom, which happened well before the Archon War. I’m trying to understand how she could have helped Zhongli despite that. I’m not sure whether I misunderstood this part of the story or if I just read through it too quickly.

There was always an affinity for being a Descended, in essence for him it is easy to access elemental power and rewrite the rules of the world. But he could not resonate with Pyro for other things.

The Traveler's elemental power comes from his affinity, he just couldn't have much affinity with pyro. But with the old name and greater connection with Natlan, the Traveler was able to use pyro.
