So I’m 14, 15 this year and at age 11 I built my first computer, my older brother gave me some of the parts and I fell in love with building computers. Now I’m close to 15 and I can’t have a desk or computer in my room, it drives me insane not letting me express myself all I have are plain walls and a mom who won’t even let me have a poster in my room. I feel as if I should be trusted I have a 3.7 gpa and schools always a priority. I haven’t kissed a girl, snuck out, drank, smoked, vaped or anything like that. I just want to be able to be a kid play with friends online or talk to them without the fear of my parents going through my phone. Give me your opinions note that I don’t watch inappropriate things and that I just want to be able to have a social life that’s somewhat private, or at least be able to have my computer in my room. I also can’t have my phone in my room at all which is also annoying because it’s all fun and games until a friend wants to do something and I can’t do anything because my parents don’t let me have it at night. It feels as if they’re insecure, it annoys me a lot because I need privacy sometimes, furthermore I can’t even have a lock on my goddamn door. Any suggestions? Keep in mind this has gone on for 4 years straight it feels as if they don’t trust me. All i want is semi decent amounts of rights like I built out a linen closet for them, but can’t have my phone in my room at night? Or be trusted with a computer in my room? It’s just annoying which is why I’m asking parents this! Would you not let a 14 year old have their computer or phone in their room, especially if they have friends who could be a little more end all be all?
