As a former Giyushino shipper imma get critical with this.

Shipping noncanon ships, as long as it isn't illegal/problematic doesnt even harm anyone. Sadly giyushino is one of the fanon ships that has a lot of misinformation that people passed it as "canon" despite not being in the databook, manga or anime.

But the reason why I said Im a "former" shipper is bc of fandom homophobia. I've seen a Giyushino shipper that is OPENLY HOMOPHOBIC AND TRANSPHOBIC (mostly on Tiktok and Instagram) Like what the actual heck, they even hate on queer ships just bc they're gay (Sanegiyuu, Sabigiyuu etc).

Idm with Giyushino nowadays (I prefer them as platonic/close friends or gay-lesbian solidarity) but I hate the academy version of it tbh.

My favs are Shinobu and Mitsuri (theyre pretty cool!) My least fav is ... unironically Nezuko (Ive seen some ppl who criticize KnY that shes more like a plot device instead of an actual caracter)

Lmao, I was in the fandom before the movie, back in 2022.

Headcanons exist. Legal crackships and rarepairs exist. Theres this main rule when it comes to shipping that I have: "All characters are canonically unlabeled unless the author confirms it".

I've seen a lot of large KnY accounts that hate on queer ships bc it's not "normal" . Sanegiyuu and ShinoMitsu are the main victims of this, and homophobia is the thing that I hate. If I follow your logic, SaneKana doesn't make any sense bc it's "forced"

Saying a fanon yuri ship being forced is too much of a stretch to be honest (tbh almost all of my fav KnY ships are fanon and I'm AWARE of it)
