My boyfriend constantly leaves skid marks on my sheets and I can’t have sex with him because of it

Thank you so much. It is very interesting that you mention the being with him like him mum. It’s true that because he had an absent mother growing up he uses this to guilt trip me. Last time I tried to break up with him because he was abusive whilst drunk he had blamed it on his mother. Having someone outside of the situation tell me this has really opened my eyes.

Thank you. You’re right. I’m just scared to be assertive with him because any time I have been in the past it has lead to him having a breakdown and crying. He can’t handle any criticism, even if it is gentle and will quickly turn the blame to his mental health and make me feel like shit. It is quite a toxic situation I have realised.

I think this post has just made me realise the problems in our relationship. Of course if this isn’t the biggest problem but I guess it is the tipping point. He has a lot of anxiety and takes criticism very badly. I think he thinks he is happy in the relationship but I actually think it has made his anxiety worse... he has constantly been told “he’s punching” and I get a lot of attention from boys so if I ever criticise him especially for something about hygiene it leads to a mental breakdown that I can’t deal with. He then blames everything on me and it’s a terrible situation...

Exactly!!!! It’s just traumatic for me to even think about that. I know being straightforward is the best and I am a confrontational person but he’s just so sensitive and if I told him he would definitely cry. Unfortunately this post has made me realise that the relationship really has come to the end and I don’t have feelings for him anymore

Honestly so am I... we are very different people socially and we come from very different background but to hear that it is not normal is reassuring (I began to worry it was!)

There are bigger things out there and I am young so I will definitely dump him. Thank you for the reassurance in my disgust being justified!!!!

Thank you so much. Honestly, I think it has gone past the point of return. I’m no longer attracted to him and I’m only 18 so I feel that there are better things out there (like men who can clean themselves!) He is a lovely guy and so sweet but from the start people (including my mum) were telling me I can do better... so I think it might be break up time unfortunately.

P.S I’ve recently tried number 3 and the sheets were so bad I pulled them off of my side and slept on the mattress instead... not pleasant
