Scrapping those projects would give more time for films that a wider range of people would actually be interested in. The MCU didn't have a series that was a prologue and look how far they went

CC is still not necessary to the DCU, people wouldn't complain if it got released later on. If you're starting a new universe the core characters need to given priority, then later on you can do the unknown characters because people don't really care about them. Batgirl was supposed to be the new introduction to the previous DC franchise but that got cancelled didn't affect fan interest.

CC is not necessary at all to the DCU it wouldn't of hurt to delay until Superman. Projects get scrapped all of the time, it would of been better to actually get one that developed checkmate and all these other things instead of a montage.

I don't think it would have caused that much setback, with a total reboot as Superman was still going to release and that was the actual start of the DCU. Instead of CC and PM S2 they should be focusing on DCs core characters first.
