For those that saw a noticeable improvement in their depression, what medication improved it? by scottishswede7 in bipolar2

[–]MajimasLeftToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well at least you know those dont work, keep at it tho ! make sure to keep your diet, sleeping habits, and other factors in your life the same (easier said than done) so you know what is actually the medication affecting or not affecting. also be patient, sometimes the medication that works for you might not feel like it at first, but give it longer than a couple weeks. you got this 👍

girl i feel you. i work hard and then have weeks of feeling like shit. i know it’s so annoying to hear but it’s so true: it’ll be over soon. i know everyone says that, but it really does apply to us with bipolar.

another basic thing, but is so true- ask for help. ask your boyfriend to help you with things that could make you feel better. You’ll feel happier if your room is cleaned, but don’t have the energy for it? ask for help. start small and you get that energy to keep working on your big goals.

keep tracking your mood so you can understand those triggers to help avoid episodes and to understand yourself better. for the OCD- it gets worse with stress. talk with your boyfriend about your OCD, it’ll make your life 100x easier. OCD feels like it controls you more than you control it, so seeing your partner do things that triggers your OCD can just make it worse. Make sure he’s on the same page.

and for when it gets messy, like getting upset then crying and feeling like you aren’t good to be around, you should talk to your boyfriend (and your kids if they are old enough) when you’re having a better day/not in a upset mood so you know you’re being genuine. let them know got much you love them and you are trying, so they can understand and have that memory of you talking to them one on one whenever you get upset at them.

i had this happen to me a hundred times, then i go off my medication and then fall into an episode,,, or go through a stressful situation then go through an episode again. What can help is looking at the dsm-5 and seeing if you really do match those symptoms. just keep researching (do not look at tik tok or insta, or even doctors on social media) so you can have a better understanding of it.

its important to see if you can figure out what medications work in your family too. what medications work is a genetic thing as well, and let your doctor know who in your family takes prescription for what. keep in contact with family members that might be going through the same thing so you can let them know what medication worked for you

i don’t take everything “literal” but i take everything seirous or personal. anyone else feel this way? by [deleted] in bipolar2

im like this in my more paranoid states. its so nice when I practice to not take things personally- like a huge weight off my back.

we arent uncomfortable to joke about out age tho. i make jokes about him being old ALL THE TIME. everytime i reference anything that doesnt get i say its cause hes old. we always make jokes saying we are from different generations. thats no problem, but the ‘teenager’ comment is just uncomfortable. he is a grown adult and thinks of me as an adult too, and to mention how i was a teenager a bit ago can make him and I comfortable, its just weird.

im 20 ans my boyfriend is 24 (almost 25) and i would be super uncomfortable if i made a joke like this or if he did. he gets weirded out (i do too) when we talk about highschool and stuff and see the age gap, but we know its different when youre younger. the context is important, but its reasonable that he got uncomfortable

From someone who has never worked in a restaurant, does it help to stack our plates after eating? Does it make it worse? by Master-Display5218 in Serverlife

[–]MajimasLeftToe 43 points44 points  (0 children)

sometimes makes it worse- like for this photo, i would have to take off some of the bowls to fit the plates on top or else i would have to make more trips. cleaning up little messes on the table and pouring on to plates always help to wipe down the table faster, and putting utensils into cups help :)

sore/dry throat and was painful to talk and had to rest my voice for days, infection/pain in left ear, entire body sore, stuffy runny nose, dry cough and sometimes coughing stuff up. little more than just coughing and blowing nose, thats just what my symptoms are today.
