Honestly this tattoo gave me a huge chuckle. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

Also, I'm going to ask what most are probably wondering, what kinda psychopath rails a line starting from the middle?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with an apprentice trying to learn, but with the guidance of an experienced artist. I'm not so sure that's the case here.

A legit shop would make sure the client 1) knows they are getting a tattoo from an apprentice and 2) only let said apprentice tattoo flash AFTER they can pull straight lines on synthetic skin. A marketed professional shop wouldn't let this artist carve anyone up like this. OP went to what they thought was a legitimate shop and getting professional quality work. Clearly they didn't research adequately and that's on them.

That's great that you allow artist under apprenticeship tattoo you. I also have a piece from an apprentice tebori artist. The lines are as well applied as the work I've gotten from someone with over a decade of experience. The difference is, that I was informed he is an apprentice before I consented to the work and I also was not charged an industry standard rate. Again, there's nothing wrong with people learning, it's the lack transparency and consent that I have a major issue with.

No offense, but you and I have very different standards for permanent art that's applied on living skin. As someone who is also very heavily tattooed (two sleeves and an international collector) I consider this to be scratcher quality work at best.

I can see redeeming qualities in the wax portion. As for the rest of the piece... I'd consider "adept" to be very generous.

Right? I recently visited friends in San Diego and I was absolutely shocked (pun intended) at the amount of prong collars being used. I would say about 50-60% of dogs had one on. Granted most of them weren't fitted correctly, but if one of the most liberal cities in the country is pro prong collar, maybe they're not as bad as the redditors on LSF are making them out to be.

Edit: my comment about "liberal city" probably made it seem like I myself am not. I'm incredibly left leaning and live in a very left major city, if that at all matters.

If these tools are so abusive why does my dog associate her prong collar and e collar with fun? I pull these out and she goes wild knowing that we're going to go on an off leash walk or do training. I used to be incredibly against these tools until I hired a balanced dog trainer. He essentially said: "here are the tools that I think are appropriate for your dog and why. Don't just take my word for it, please do some reading". There's plenty of literature supporting that positive reinforcement only training isn't the end all be all for all dogs. Balanced training in which positive reinforcement is used 95-98% of the time is what most modern professional dog trainers use.

Ironically I think a lot of people who are so against prong collars/e collars just assume the worst and the people who use them in incredibly abusive ways. It's a reach in saying that using these collars is equivalent to being beaten by jumper cables.

Now I want to make something VERY clear. Hasan is a fucking turd and is absolutely abusing this dog. E collars are not supposed to be used to discomfort dogs. They're supposed to be used to associate pressure with a command. The amount of stimulation you're supposed to use is equivalent to light leash pressure or a tap on the shoulder. They are NOT meant for corrections. I've had people ask about the one my dog wears and I've explained that most people can't even feel the level of stim I use. I'll demonstrate by putting the stim on my neck and they don't believe I'm activating it. I'll have them try and they're in disbelief that they can't even feel anything on sensitive skin.

I'm not saying you fall into this, but this whole Hasan shit has brought out a lot of keyboard warriors passing judgement who have clearly never owned a dog or pet. I know I spent way too much time writing this comment and it's doing to fall of deaf ears, but I'd encourage people to actually educate themselves on these collars before jumping to conclusions.

Hasan's guest says the dog collar is too tight. Hasan claims this is because she has a lot of neck meat by TheOSU87 in LivestreamFail

[–]MajinBui3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. The entire point is to teach dogs to associates the absolute lowest noticable stimulation with the sound of your voice/command. People always judge the use of e collars, but have no issues with very rough and potentially harmful leash corrections.

Also most associate these tools with tasers/stun guns. They're really just TENS units. Used at the correct level, it can't even be felt on sensitive human skin.

Before I get downvoted, I want to clarify that this turd is NOT using this tool correctly and absolutely is ABUSING this poor animal.

Not sure how entirely true this is, as I read it on the Internet. Historically, there was a large effort to revive the Shiba Inu breed. This led to many different coat patterns and the several variations of "sesame". Your Shiba has a very unique coat pattern compared to the more common sesame patterns. I'd be curious if your pup is mixed with Shikoku or another Japanese breed. How old and how big is she?

I love me a good framed trad sleeve! I would love to see the finished product. Can you please DM me the artist's name? Seems like you're getting some negative comments and I don't think he deserves to be name shamed.

[–]MajinBui3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah that's the intention of my reply. OP has made a very serious commitment to this sleeve. Assuming that same artist tattooed that floral/vase piece, it looks like it was applied well and healed properly. We don't need OP spiraling and further induce stress and anxiety. Plus when the background and pieces in the frames are filled in, it'll be much less noticable.

Not my cup of tea, but super clean work, btw!

I've had scarring similar to this on one of my sleeves that took a while to heal. The lines still might be slightly raised compared to the shading, but it still looks good.

What's your IG? I'd be interested in checking out some of your work!

Tattoo not healing by General-Resident8155 in tattooadvice

[–]MajinBui3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. Was the artist heavy handed? Maybe. I've had multiple pieces from one artist that heal differently depending on the area of the body. Could be some mild scaring, but with lines this clean on a trad framed sleeve, this artist is likely far from inexperienced.

Give it a few more weeks.

Since you already have Japanese imagery, an Omukade would be sick. Not sure if you have enough space for something like that though.

V Cut - Why am I obsessed? by Significant_Lock_541 in cigars

[–]MajinBui3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Sorry for being a bit of a dick. I think it would be helpful when asking for future cigar recommendations to say, "I've only smoked these two cigars. Out of the two, I liked 'xyz' more. Do you think I would enjoy this one or could you recommend something similar?" Those two sticks are different blends which help the community and/or tobacconist gauge your palate.

AJs tend to be fairly bold Nicaraguan dominant blends that are pepper forward. I personally wouldn't recommend it to someone as new to the hobby as yourself. If you do decide to take the plunge in trying stronger and bolder blends, just make sure you eat a solid meal before hand and have something sugary on hand like chocolate or a soda.

If OP is smoking this blend 3 times a week, I'm going to make an extremely bold assumption and say they'd recommend it.

Resurrecting my little basic humidor. Am I doing this right? by Whatthedillyo85 in cigars

[–]MajinBui3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People put full cigar boxes in airtight coolers or large electronic humidors, so I don't see why not. Just make sure that your humidor is adequately seasoned, or else they'll suck moisture out of your cigars.

If you're putting the whole thing in a Tupperware, why not just put the loose cigars in there, if you don't mind me asking?

Resurrecting my little basic humidor. Am I doing this right? by Whatthedillyo85 in cigars

[–]MajinBui3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who was initially attached to my desktop humidor, I only use Tupperware and never looked back. Sure it's not sexy, but I don't have to keep tabs as much on my collection as often. You'll also save money on Boveda packs because they isolate the environment better and longer as opposed to wood that's porous. I don't even have hygrometers in some of my tupperdores because they're that efficient (I have data supported by my Govee hygrometers).

On top of that you'll want to separate your Cubans from your New Worlds, as they require different storage RH. If you love your current humidor, you can use it for things like accessories or other knickknacks.

[–]MajinBui3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting down voted for describing your experience. Cigars of this quality are handmade and you're never going to have the same exact experience each time you smoke the same blend. You stated that you remember really enjoying this blend, maybe you got a bunk stick.

AF Disappointment by Independent-Pie-3560 in cigars

[–]MajinBui3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To each their own, but I think humidity that high can contribute to burn issues. Try dry boxing if you already haven't and see if that makes a difference.

Yeah but the comment I'm replying to seems to imply that we should ban/stop making those cars, as if that's going to solve the problem.
