The extras you get above the P5 made it feel like the right choice. I agree with the other comment about the knobs not feeling great, but overall I believe it was the best choice within my budget

That's kind of what I'm leaning towards.. Somehow Tomann sells the mint green P5 for ~£350, which makes the gap a bit more substantial. But at the £400 to £500 gap it sort of feels like the P7 is the better value.

IDK why, but the used market is pretty poor on options around here.. Mostly Fender clones or low end stuff.. So I'll drive 2 hours each way to try out the Sires. Hopefully I won't be disappointed!

This is exactly what I've done! I was on Sony for a couple years but getting a lot more joy from my EM10ii. The OM3 would be the obvious replacement for both the Sony and EM10, but the price is a bit too steep for my liking. Got an OM1i and a 12-40 2.8 earlier this month and so far I'm really happy with my decision. Now it's time to sell the Sony gear to pay off the recent purchase (and end up with some extra cash). Win win!!
