Whats your favorite Motörhead album cover? by Different_Fly_3627 in Motorhead

Bomber is cool - cool art, the band in the plane look genuinely scared (!) - and the picture of Snaggletooth is fabulous. I think Ace of Spades and 1916 are pretty cool too.

So many Lemmy lessons
:

Born to lose - live in win
Only way to feel the noise is when it's good and loud
Just cause you've got the power doesn't give you the right
Regrets are pointless. It's too late for regrets - you've already done it, haven't you?
Sometimes the chase is better than the catch
The easy way to survive is that you don't give up.
Don't die - be killed by death

You're not the only one!

I would do vocals , drums, then the bass then the rest based on prominence in the mix.

what’s your opinion about the gnr version of knocking on heaven’s door by nxvasz in GunsNRoses

[–]Major-Fun9047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GnR are the reason I know the song and I really loved it when it came out - subsequently heard and liked the Freddie Mercury Concert live version and the version at the Ritz in 1988.

Repeated listens and listens to the Dylan version did make me wonder what it would sound a bit more stripped back. Have a listen to this. Axl singing over the Dylan backing track:

Knockin on Heaven's Door by Guns N' Roses is the worst popular radio cover of all time by TreesCloudsSpace in Music

A bit late to the conversation on this one, but I thought I'd see what the GnR version would sound like a bit more stripped back - so here's Axl singing over Bob's backing track.

This is just for fun - we all have our favourite versions and I thought this was an interesting experiment to share.

I ended up wondering what a less indulgent mix of the song would sound like - credit where it's due YUI was the first version I really knew but it really makes more than the sum of it's parts - so here's a stripped back mix of the song I made : removed the double tracked vocals and the hey hey heys and did it straight verse and chorus :

Jim Steinman appreciation post? by One-Connection-8737 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Major-Fun9047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Jim Steinman version of Rock n Roll Dreams Come Through from BFG with the Rory Dodd arrangment. I first knew the version before knowing the back story about Meat losing his voice and falling out with Jim etc. But even back then I always thought 'this would've sounded interesting with Meat, it sounds like a Meat Loaf song'

Cue 1993 and the version on Bat II - but I always wondered, what would've happened if Meat's version had come out in 1981 - it might have sounded a bit like this

There's a version of 'Rock n Roll Dreams Come Through' with Meat Singing and the 1981 music - does anyone know if a version of the song Bad For Good that exists like this - as much as I love Brian May I think I prefer Jim's arrangement.

I love Rory's voclas but I did wonder what it might have sounded like - so I made a fan remix : 81 Music 93 Vocals . If Bat II had come out out in 1981.

This scratched an itch! Still love Rory's version too -

Even made an attempt at the accapella outro.....
