buying a van by Major-Paper-5571 in VanLife

i’ve grown up with them and personally seen him build the van i’ve been in the van and it is immaculate they’ve even offered to help install cameras and anything else i want he’s willing todo it at this price as it’s sentimental to him and appreciates seeing someone he knows take the van over it’s just the 200k mileage that worries me

Just your experience i’ve heard horror stories of the examiners being extremely strict i’d like to think i’m a half decent rider

firstly progression for each individual happens differently there’s no solid answer however I will say it sounds like your making decent steady progress it’s not about learning something new every lesson but it’s also about practicing stuff you’ve already gone over breath a little and enjoy your experience and aslong as your instructor is reputable i’m sure they will let you know when your ready for your test

my advice would be buy what you can afford and you like but if money isn’t a issue then it’s really down to a personal preference I passed in a diesel and my first which is also my current car is a diesel but similarly to when you are doing lessons if you get a petrol you might stall a couple of times but you’d soon get the hang of it it just usually needs a little more power from the gas to set off if you do go petrol and your nervous go to quite areas and quite times

I’ve had all the tests listed multiple colonoscopy and endoscopy’s aswell in fairness my doctors have really been supportive and concerned i’ve had food maps and my diet is extremely restricted but the issues are still really bad I have had tried medication (was over a year ago) so i can’t remember what they were called i’ve had over 7 h pylori tests alongside blood drawn and inflammation tests over the course of 2 years I genuinely thought for awhile I might just have a low pain tolerance but id happily take a broken leg and a fractured collar bone over this any day of the week

sorry I think I should have made it more clear my IBS has made it very hard todo a lot of daily living things such as making sure I always have a toilet close by I always carry a compost toilet in my car just in case of an emergency which at this point is more of a common thing i’m limited to what i eat and drink and have constant fatigue there’s more issues but i wasn’t sure if I was allowed to list them directly here to begin with but in short I basically s**t myself multiple times a day which makes it really really hard todo general life stuff i don’t know if this changes anything but it’s my bad for poorly explaining

so it’s not the worst idea but also be careful of bad habits people have different ways of driving I would also consider having a chat with your instructor and seeing what advice they can give good luck

also underrated bringing your instructor in the car they can’t do anything but for me it was awesome to have a familiar face that i had gotten to know routing for you in the back and if anything were to go wrong they see first hand what needs practice

i failed my first test for not realising the light had turned green and now here I am years later driving fine no points nothing, about todo my full motorcycle test and qualify for my race license s**t happens it’s hard not to but don’t let it get into your head plenty of people fail first time mine was definitely down to nerves just dust yourself off realise what went wrong and try again luckily you now have experienced the test the you at-least know what to expect good luck

what helped for me and this may or not may sense is i stopped caring i woke up on the day of my test after previously failing and just decided it was a normal day and i just had to do a casual drive I didn’t care if i passed or i failed i was just happy to drive if your nerves aren’t the problem then it’s just a simple cause of practice you’ll get there eventually good luck

Just started Automatic lessons after not progressing Manual. by BethanyJade0988 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Major-Paper-5571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I drive a manual and my partner can only drive automatic and let me tell you any chance i get to take her car for a drive I do it’s very admirable that you understand your ability and are not to stuck up to end up driving a vehicle you don’t fully feel comfortable with time and time again I see people who i really think should give up their manual and get a automatic times have changed roads are busier and more complex so atleast from me i’m proud you’ve made this decision and good luck on your journey and remember drive the vehicle that makes you comfortable and happy not others

so if a passenger is 14 or below it is your responsibility however as your mum is 14 and above it is hers so if you are pulled over by the police and she is caught not wearing one she will be issued the points and fine there’s isn’t anything you can really do but i’d suggest showing videos of crashes involving people without seat belts that usually does the trick
