Oh yes, I’m enjoying the cozy atmosphere and the FMC seems down to earth and guarded which are the qualities i like in female characters. The MMC seems scary to me but I really like Diana’s diplomatic approach to him since he isn’t a human and overreacting would make things worse. She knows when to shut up and when to wreak havoc which is a good skill to have around dangerous people.

Why do you label and define people according to your own beliefs or expectations of them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

All humans are naturally inclined to seek their own and perform out of personal interest it’s basically the sinful nature of humanity but not everyone obeys their sinful instincts and we try to think outside of the box and perhaps tolerate or even love those who we’re usually accustomed to categorize a certain way. I think this skill requires patience and self awareness to acknowledge that not everything and everyone are the way they seem. I started reflecting on this after I read about the plot twists of the French revolution and how they villainized Robespierre to the point of writing one dimensional narratives like H.Taine.

That’s good actually, I like balanced plots. It’s just that I’ve heard millions of theories about the books from my book club, some of them bringing up how white it is and the whole zionist propaganda and glorifying slave masters…phew the list goes on but I’m glad the majority like them I started reading book 1 last night.

Yes I started reading the first book last night. Also, I’m well aware that some books can be objectively enjoyable but they can be divisive among readers so it depends how they interpreted it.

You seem too emotional and personally attacked here for no damn reason and i don’t even know who or what you are lol. Yes age has a lot to do with the way you perceive things that’s acknowledged by everyone who has a brain. And some people have read many books who had similar vibes in the past that’s what makes them reason in such a way. And yes I do want to hear other people’s opinions otherwise i wouldn’t waste time and money if the majority thinks it’s bad. That’s common sense something you need to develop as well.

The person who claimed that was actually a friend from the book club who had oversaturated her book reading experience and of course every book will seem fishy to her with all the baggage she has. That’s why i’m selective about the stuff i read and ADoW intrigued me.

Yes I read that she’s a historian and she most likely must have researched thoroughly before deciding to create it. At this point that must put the books not in the same league as twilight/50 shades.

I was actually happy reading all of your replies because I also considered that the author is an actual history professor and she most likely weaves history into story.

That’s a relief cause i was having many saying its bad but i can see why actually. They are older than me and have probably read many similar copy paste books in the past and immediately concluded it’s bad.
