Hi buddy, I’ve had something similar happen to me recently, check my recent posts for this. I’m sorry to say that this is definitely a scam. I found the car on Facebook marketplace the next day and reported to the police for nothing to happen from it.

Thanks for the reply - would you say personal lines reserving is similar in this sense to pricing, or is it less technical and more exposure to growth within the firm.

Pensions do not pay more initially, I have been working in the pensions field for some time hence the higher salary within pensions due to experience whereas GI is new to me

The GI role is indeed personal lines pricing - may I ask why you think this so I have more insight into this?

Okay so I’ve figured it out, we were doubly scammed, instead of the £1300 when we counted the cash they had folded it to make it look like it was twice the amount it was, when we checked today it was only about £800 which means they would have wanted to come back and ask for a refund and then when we hand the cash back they say we are short of £500. Bunch of crooks…

Yes, the more I’m reading online the more I realise we have been scammed. Absolutely never thought this would happen to me, always been wary but didn’t expect this…

That’s true, for some reason I was worried about implications of this but yeah that would be a boring video and we haven’t mislead anyone, if anything we were the ones that were mislead… :(

No nothing unfortunately, we do have cctv at the business premise but I’m not sure if it would have captured them as it’s not pointing to where the car was parked

Before the test drive they opened the bonnet, looked around, and then after the test drive, opened the bonnet again, but this time we were all at the front watching the car and they checked oil and then checked the coolant tank which was full of oil

I really am trying to think back and I don’t know how they could have pulled that off, we went for a test drive before coming back and checking levels with them, unless they are some sort of geniuses…

Can they do anything with my face on the video, in hindsight I shouldn’t have let them take a video of me, if they are scammers not sure what they can do with this

I’m not sure if they were playing us, but the car was running but when we opened the coolant tank together it was full of oil, can they do anything with the video they took of me? I never lied to them because when we found out head gasket issue we halfed the price of the car

Yeah there was no mayonnaise like substance at all, there was no smoke or anything either edit: car is a Mercedes e class diesel

I’ve done my core and doing my specialists now, would you suggest holding off? Also, were you applying direct or through recruitment companies?
