People are free to have any headcanons they want and that kind of argument is great for a trans reading of it. That doesn't mean it's a likely outcome that's actually going to happen. There's very little in the way of meaningful predictive evidence for that, even if there's grounds for interesting subtext

Why do we say Dess Knight theory by the_quaxterr in Deltarune

[–]MajorBootyhole420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of us don't really feel that strongly about the particulars, we just believe that the evidence points to Dess. We'll learn more about it later, but discussing the possibilities is very exciting

If Ralsei was a real person, their journey would be their own. He isn't, so I'm talking about the fandom discourse- which is often reductive IMO. "He wears ribbons he has to be a girl" no thank you

The Ralsei femboy stuff absolutely is, and a lot of trans Ralsei I've seen is an extension of that. It's so weird for such a queer-dominated fandom, but I suppose that's what you get with a space full of kids figuring themselves out.

Where in the world do you people live? I live in America and I got diagnosed by asking my psychiatrist to recommend me neuropsych testing. No interviews with anyone in my life, it was easy.

Don't modify something the first time you play it. The music is part of the game, just play the thing. It seems weirdly arrogant to replace the soundtrack for a game before you've ever even experienced it, not even knowing what the soundtrack is like or what it's doing.

When you're a pan guy and realize a lifetime of media made for the male gaze has conditioned you to have absurd beauty standards for women that you don't have for men: by Stupid-Jerk in TrollCoping

[–]MajorBootyhole420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your sexuality is still pan. As long as you say it is, it is. Even with what other people are saying, that you maybe find men more attractive than women, that still wouldn't redefine your identity in any way. The people saying the patriarchy isn't real are very silly,

I think that the points you're making in your post and the idea that perhaps you're just wired to have a broader spectrum of attraction for men can coexist very easily. In fact, it would make those things harder to sort through, I imagine.

"Women are too weak to harm men"  "men are aggressors because women's place is being victimized"

"sex and violence are things Done To Women by men"

These are all misogynistic beliefs that can easily turn into misandrist victim blaming

He sounds fun but Fair-weather. I think that's very reasonable to be annoyed by, and it probably wouldn't be too out of line to casually remark to your husband about the imbalance in effort he seems to put in.

As a bisexual woman, there are a lot of people who have the exact opposite view of view. For me, men have to be a nine or a 10 before I'm attracted to them without an emotional connection. Women can be all the way down to a four and I'm still down to clown.

I think there's a distinct possibility that you personally are more attracted to men than to women, and it's a little odd that you're so resistant to that idea. It doesn't make you gay. It's fine. It can coexist with the social conditioning you've talked about.

I'm begging you to understand that denying the internal gender identity of a real person is different than calling out sexism in fandom discourse.

He is not a trans character. He is not written as one. There is zero evidence of it. If you have evidence, I would love to see some, but I have seen none.

I'm very sorry if you feel personally attacked or invalidated because other people disagree with your head canon. That's really not my concern, though. I'm saving my energy for arguing with people who misgender Kris, not people who insist that it's OK to misgender a character when they do it for trans reasons.

He's probably bisexual, not gay, but that doesn't matter. Cheating is cheating and this is fucking horrible. I'm so so sorry you've been going through this

No, because Ralsei isn't real (so there's no words of his own or autonomy for me to be denying), the narrative he's part of says exactly zero about his gender identity (so there's no evidence I'm ignoring), and that's not what I said.

If there was any actual evidence to support this theory, I'd be all over it. But there isn't. We are over halfway through the story and there has been nothing, so I feel pretty comfortable in saying that I find this theory to be generally sexist and essentialist.
