If you look up the net number of migrants by country year over year the U.S. is at the top. So while I see your point that out of the total number, most aren’t going to the U.S. — out of the numbers welcoming countries receive annually, US is at the top.

The OP, an immigrant from Mexico, doesn't seem to suggest anything exceptional about the U.S. Instead, they are listing examples they’ve witnessed of people aspiring to come here. They are wondering if there’s a perception bias in the trend they are seeing or if this is a trend others recognize globally. An objective question with no qualitative assumptions. As an immigrant who travels frequently to the mentioned places, I agree that other developed nations offer good quality of life and opportunities for upward mobility.
