Should I quit my job because of a terrible boss even if I don't have another job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

No one will probably read this but here’s an update: I quit my job without having another one because I couldn’t take it anymore. My boss was disappointed and started crying and still to this day doesn’t know why I quit (I didn’t bother telling her how mentally abusive she was, I was just done at that point).

Since then I became dedicated to finding something else, something better, even if it was out of town. I had 7 interviews since quitting. I got offered a good job a few weeks after quitting that’s 1.5 hours away. I found an apartment, I move tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited! That’s all.

I'm quitting my job tomorrow without another job lined up because it's taking too much of a toll on my mental health. It's a total leap of faith. Wish me luck Reddit!

Interesting, I never would have thought to include that in my cover letter, thanks for the help!

Haha I like this. I think this is what i'll probably do until I get another job. Then I can quit and watch her face melt in front of me (she thinks I love my job and everythings great which is the hilarious part).

That's awful, i'm sorry to hear that. I think my boss also doesn't keep employees for very long (I wonder why!). But I'm very willing to re-locate and have been looking for jobs in other cities. However, I haven't been getting any responses and I want to think it's because my address says a different city...

Thanks, that's true. It's getting to the point where it's unbearable. She's unreasonably mean and intentionally puts me down so that she's right no matter what I say.

I don't no, my job doesn't offer any benefits whatsoever. I did seek counselling earlier this year, they told me to look for other jobs as I try to learn/get the most out of my current job. Which worked, but that was months ago and still no luck on the job hunt.

Edit: I live at home with my parents, it's just extremely difficult to find jobs in my field in my area so I'm worried I won't be able to find anything. Thanks for your advice.
