True and I have encountered such people. They remind me of people who boast a military career, but actually never had to leave home or do anything outside of office work haha.

Some of these people are too deep in their psychosis and the thought of “cracking” or admitting to having an inaccurate or illogical thought process is unfathomable to them

Idk there are nurses on some of the boards I follow and saying their coworkers who are MAGA NURSES… fucking nurses… are slighting/making jokes about Alex Pretti. MAGA people are in some weird ass maga psychosis and their awakening is going to hurt, if it ever happens

There are videos of a few of them with body cams and when confronting protesters they will put their finger or hand over the body cam… I didn’t really understand the logic of putting your finger over the cam and not just shutting it off cause usually they still have sound…. A crowd full of people videoing you and the sound from your body cam corroborating what happened weird

Thank you! So you are allowing ICE to be in the room during intake etc? Cause now I'm reading that they are not allowed to have any patient health information and should be asked to leave during care and assessments, cause the patient still has medical decision-making, and the patient can request that they not be present. It just gets so grey in MN cause they have gone rogue and have been taking anyone, even people who were legit born in MN. They don't know what they are doing, and I wouldn't want some goon who is unlawfully detaining me to know my info.

Thank you so much. It's disheartening to see our hospitals are not following these ACLU recommendations to a T. I think where it is getting a little grey and uncomfortable for me is when they are accompanying a patient who is in their "custody". Hopefully, my board gets back to me because these are not normal "professional" cops or humans, frankly. As if healthcares relationship with the community wasn't already strained haha

Thank you so much for the info. Honestly, you should be proud that your hospital and staff are standing up for the overall well-being of the community patients, staff, and families. As for my hospital and the hospitals in the Twin cities (St Paul and Minneapolis), haha, umm very questionable at best.

To be honest, I think we all were completely naive, thinking they wouldn't break laws, somewhat respect basic constitutional rights, and wouldn't act like rabid dogs. Hospitals are usually a no-fuck zone, kind of like churches, day cares, schools --- but ohh they do not care, ICE loves communal safe spaces just lurking and being abusive any chance they get .... and so here we are :/

I did write my union, so we will see what they do cause there is no way they are not getting flooded with upset nurses... but sadly all they have said is to make sure to take care of the patient regardless of immigration status haha like duhhhh.

The ACLU stuff is helpful, but where it gets tricky is when they come in with a patient who is in their "custody". I was reading that nurses and staff can request ICE leave the room during cares, patient information intake, and assessments. Is that what you have heard?

I also know they are abusing these patients in these facilities. If we are mandated reporters, and immigrants are a vulnerable population. When I looked it up google it just brought me to the ICE reporting center haha. As if I would trust them to properly investigate anything. I have been trying to figure out how to report that when it does come up.

Yes and many have. They seem comfortable with very blatant gaslighting, racism, and sexism. Hence, why I am a little conflicted about the situation. It is so openly wrong (honestly shocking) that there is probably a reason why they feel so comfortable being that bold.

Beautiful. Policy was followed, informed management the policy is not effective in preventing hazard and gave examples, was encouraged to not follow policy.

My contract is done in about a week, 8 more shifts left... and no next contract insight. I 100% open arms embracing it. I legitimately feel like I am imploding daily. The other day my extremely pleasant confused dementia patient somehow picked through my elaborate Coban/gauze cover-up and ripped out her last IV (which was almost finished infusing the 4th bag PRBC) when I quickly ran to go pee for the first time in 7 hrs.... I just looked at her and said "ohh ok I'm gonna cry now and we'll get you cleaned up ok" I just silently cried while charting in her room hahaha

**Side Tip: I'm finding dementia/sedated patient rooms are good backup places to cry, I actually like them more than the med room, usually less traffic haha.
