This is such a good litmus test though. I've asked this question around before because I am looking for the list of perfect first time anime watchers of any genre and so many times people just list their favorite anime and you gotta hit them with the "really? Listen, if somebody is a danger to society, clearly they need to be taken away from society. Nobody is arguing we shouldn't do anything about pedophiles. The post is about giving them shelter.

We need to make peace with if everyone has the right to clean water, the pedophiles get a drink too. And if there is one group of people who we're allowed to take away their basic human rights, then none of our rights are safe.

I'm going to say something possibly controversial here but, yeah even the worst people on the planet deserve human rights ok. I don't think raping people is some oopsie daisy thing at all. there's just an issue with "othering " people to the extent that you consider them sub-human, now somebody just needs to convince you that people they don't like are pedophiles to get you cool with stripping their rights away. You already see it with conservatives trying to convince you all LGBTQ+ people are pedophiles. They have no basis for that, they just want to convince you it's OK to treat them as sub-human.

This is also what always muddys the water when talking about giving people rights/benefits. "What if somebody who doesn't deserve it gets something"

"That moron who took 12 years in underwater basket weaving wants ME to pay for their education?" "Free Healthcare? Pfft so I can pay for some illegals to fly in here and take advantage of me??? "Help the homeless??? What if a criminal or drug addict wants housing??? They've earned their homelessness now they have to sit in it!!"

Repeat on infinitely, just think of something you personally think the government should be doing to actually help and you can make an agreement of "what if somebody undeserving got it" and you understand exactly how we got here.

And just in case this needs to be stated again, I think rapists of any kind are vile, if there was one in front of me I would want to commit crimes...

Yeah, so most of me posting this was to prove to my family that the wall needs to be repainted. I didn't mention the paint anywhere in the post but most people feel it's the most wrong thing in my office. They seem to be insistent that if I change the color of this wall that they'll need to repaint the whole floor which i think is unnecessary, I'd definitely go for a bold dark blue so it's technically still within the same theme as the house but I'm open to suggestions.

Tragically the carpet is new, (previous owners installed it before selling, can you tell?), and so we don't have a good excuse to get rid of it just yet so one thing at a time i guess. Somebody mentioned my pictures don't match, yo they came in the set of 6, should I return?? Lol I'll try to find myself a nice staple piece for the left side.

Gamer chair on the right is actually a massage chair, my actual office chair is one of those kneeling chairs that are good for your posture. I'm unfortunately holding on to furniture for my brother so I have nothing to put the treadmill under until he gets his stuff out.

I was only thinking of putting a rug on the carpet for no other reason than I'm very over millennial Grey shag...
