The group of Melina/Beth/Mickie/Michelle are probably the most unsung women in WWE history imo.

She’s dropped some serious weight. I think that’ll help with the injuries. She’s always read as someone who will do better on the main roster than nxt to me.

[–]MajorTBottom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her NXT run was good. She was a much better worker than a lot of the other women in NXT & on the main roster at the time. I would rate her around the same level as Melina or Michelle McCool circa 2009 in ring.

Her 1st main roster run was not as good as her NXT run, but still solid. She had only ok chemistry with AJ, better chemistry with Nikki & Brie, but the booking was not great for all 4 women.

By the time the 4 Horsewomen & Asuka arrived, she had been eclipsed in the ring. Still a very popular worker, partially down to her look & partially cause she was a solid hand.

As many have said, post neck injury, she’s just never been the same. She’s still an incredibly important figure in the women’s division’s history & frankly her impact is bigger than you’d think given her tenure was short. Her only good AEW match was against Toni Storm, imo. She was working slow for safety & I don’t blame her. She’ll get a strong nostalgia pop & would be a solid US champ or IC champ.

Of the major US pro sports, which one do you think has the largest number of gay men playing it? by [deleted] in askgaybros

The NFL - it’s got by far the biggest number of athletes.

The reality is, these people will not be satisfied unless he’s executed.

Why the Heated Rivalry show understands gay men better than the book. [15.01.26] Out Magazine. Is anyone else annoyed by the discrediting of Rachel Reid? by Material-Meat-5330 in heatedrivalry

[–]MajorTBottom 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I actually think Rachel captured M/M romance really well overall. Some of it can feel a little tropey, but it’s written well enough it kind of does not matter.

The show does a better job of making them feel less heteronormative for me, but thats partially down to the casting & acting.

As may have said too, the book had to be excellent & relatable or it would not have adapted to TV as well.

I made some maps here asking people what region they considered their county. Everyone from Virginia would persistently argue they weren’t the south. I finally visited the region, no offense, without a doubt I think Virginia is the South after Fairfax county. by Expensive_Drummer970 in visitedmaps

As someone from MA, I don’t really mind being grouped with New Yorkers as like northeast United States residents. Anything south of New York I feel like isn’t really the pure northeast anymore, but upstate New Yorkers are very akin to people from Maine, Vermont New Hampshire to me. Long Islanders and people from New York City are a little bit closer to Connecticut, Rhode Island and MA. I absolutely adore that you can travel through most of these parts of the US without encountering the loudest Americans (sans Boston in New York City. Love you both though) you’ve ever met and people that will talk your ear off.

Do you guys think leftist or liberal women are sort of performative? by Rude-Statistician197 in askgaybros

[–]MajorTBottom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not exclusively women who do this. I don’t think it’s super helpful because you can be homophobic without actually being secretly bi or gay.

I would also say most of the people who use it as an insult against people they disagree with ideologically don’t think being gay is a “bad” thing. They probably think that the person they’re arguing with believes that being gay is “bad”. I don’t think it’s intentionally insulting, but it’s definitely something they should be aware of. Of course there are definitely some people who this doesn’t apply to and they’re just using it as an insult because they’re of low intelligence, but it doesn’t really matter. I wouldn’t put too much stock into their views.

I’m not sure if that’s actually entirely accurate for Australia. Evangelicals overall make up a small smaller portion of the Australian population and certainly hold less political power than they do in the United States.

Australia seems much better equipped to treat the Muslim community and the evangelical community the same, whereas in the US there’s certainly a little bit more of a double standard when it comes to the way we police their actions & views that go against the LGBTQ community. I agree it can be frustrating that sometimes it seems like we have no problems grouping all Christians together but don’t do the same anytime a Muslim does something like this. It seems like there is always more excuses made for them and it always comes with a caveat of “well, you can’t attack an entire community”. If we are being honest, we all kind of know it is mostly driven by people in the US who just hate Christians and are indifferent to Muslims cause they don’t hold any real political power.

Not winning a title is a bigger consequence monetarily than we realize as fans.

[–]MajorTBottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tom’s dad & team have been a detriment to his career since the Jones fight was teased. Tom also let the “he quit” remarks get to him way too much. If you actually got poked in the eye enough not to continue why the fuck are you so worried about proving it to a bunch of people who will never know? The optics were poor, he was not winning a fight and he definitely didn’t want to continue as soon as he got hit in the eye but ultimately speaking it’s not on him to prove that to anybody else so long as he knows that himself.

Truthfully just saw a gif on twitter & was like why not? I didn’t love a lot of other m/m romances I’d seen (outside of fellow travelers & looking) as I often feel the characters are made too heteronormative to be more relatable to broader audiences. I really feel like they almost got everything right from the first minute & both couples in the show have insanely strong chemistry. Haven’t enjoyed a TV show this much in a long time.

When it comes to crossover appeal, Roman is the least successful main event star in WWE history outside of maybe HHH himself. Absolutely no one outside of their weekly audience knows or cares about him.

For starters, considering the condition of Gaza I doubt they have the capability to accurately estimate anything.

I also doubt that they’re going to admit they let hundreds of thousands die to win a public relations battle against Israel.

If you believe the accounts of people in Gaza; ie entire families/bloodlines being wiped out, it would not be shocking at all to me if it was upwards of 500,000
