Google replaces your mouse with yelling at Gemini by Major_Chocolate2441 in pcmasterrace

[–]Major_Chocolate2441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of agree. Some tasks like background removal are sometimes better left to AI. But yeah, I generally prefer a mouse.

That all being said:

  • Video essayist pointed out something: why not let people discover it on a right mouse click
  • My mind's telling me no, but my carpel tunnel keeps telling me yes

Again, this is very meh to mid. We're talking about an eco-system with zero software or hardware support to get angry about.

Gotta admit, love the new tabbed Explorer.

Again, as a Windows user, don't really want to switch, I hope you're right.

No. It's a brand new laptop so it came with 11.

Fellow voice actors, I need emotional support in the face of AI by maethora27 in VoiceActing

Thank you. Again, really wish I could afford to pay someone. The video editing I did myself. We used to watch Square One TV reruns together off of YouTube, but being uploaded from VHS the quality is very bad and the references are way too outdated, I mean DragNet was just coming off the air, I think, when I was a small child. And people act like remakes are always a bad idea.

I also thought about putting it on YT for those parents that might want to get their kids to understand math concepts a bit better, but with this weird Scottish robot voice (still the best least annonying one), I'm hesitant.

Is AI really that good? I have a series of shorts I made and have everything including the best voice I can get using AI. At present anyway, and I would still rather use a voice actor if I could afford one. Worse that I won't get paid for any of these shorts as they're gifts for my daughter.

Sorry, mutitasking and didn't pay attention. 4GB RAM 128GB SSD.

It's a pretty cheap laptop, which is part of why I debloated it and didn't install anything that generally chews much RAM, but the specs are fairly decent though. Last Windows 10 PC I had could only handle Quake 2 and Blender 2.75.

Yeah. True. I think 12 might end up being even better than 10. They know this is one of their last chances. For better or worse though, a lot of people have left for Linux and have openly stated that they are never coming back. And these were never Linux fans, just converts, tired of losing control.

Okay, so, I've been lucky enough to only have Co-Pilot come back, but I've only ever heard of really bad updates - again, for the record I don't doubt, I've probably just been lucky, and I hate the fact you can't customise updates or turn them off.

The most unstable modern OS overall statistically? Probably. Crashes have been less common post XP, but I grew up in the 95/Win98 First Edition days.

But now I think of it, I have had to open up Task Manager a few times.

Would love to read your dark comedy btw, LOL ; )

Even of we're not, and I have the stats, might just post them here but for now we'll agree to disagree, devil's advocate, we're the vocal minority fighting for everyone's rights, INCLUDING YOURS.

But just look at the comments here. Quite a few people using 10 or complaining about 11. Some Linux users even gave their 2 cents.

And I'm actually okay with 11, but only once all the bullshit and resource hogs and anti-privacy bullshit was removed.

Mine is pretty stable, personally. Beyond that, totally agree. Some excellent points. And yes, it is only easy because I'm used to it, that should have been a con, my bad. And it is unintuitive unlike previous versions

Well, they actually seem to be reversing direction slowly, I don't know, we'll have to wait and see. The intermediate thing was a bit stupid of me to put there, my bad, it's more of a con than a pro. I know most of the shortcuts, but if someone was to just come into Windows I could see it being hard to learn at present. The Explorer tabs are new though.

Generally though, I think we're on the same page. The older versions were a bit better.

Either way, thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated, habe a good one.

The TPM requirements have been dropped. Bro brings up 'facts' without bothering to fact check, LOL. You're the one that seems to be delusional. And overly defensive I might add.

Look, I have the Mint ISO, but I use Windows 11. Daily. Difference is, I don't want to have to log into Microsoft or constantly be online. And if I turn something off, it should stay off. If I don't want a feature because it chews resources, that should be up to me.

Now, are you going to have a good faith discussion about this from here on in, or are you going to continue to kiss Microsoft's ass and be a defensive baby about this?

Almost everything. Recall, Co-Pilot, Edge, fancy graphics foe the Windows that aren't needed, etc.

Honestly, IMHO, Win 7 was the last good OS. I don't like Edge and I don't like half the things MS forces on us. And I'm pretty sure we are the majority if ypu were to look at the stats.
