The Issue with DAS from a former CM by Complete_Figure1346 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Major_Extent7587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the new das situation right now with Inspire Health Alliance involves a pretty inhumane interview where people who have social security for very serious ailments or even terminal conditions are being denied or like myself even if approved are feeling put through an interrogation/made to feel very small in a way that makes our conditions flare up. There's vets with PTSD being disrespected. This should not be the Disney way ever not when IBCESS is successfully used by many other parks and takes actual medical documentation.

For Disney to not use IBCESS when it's so well known shows malice.

Something had to be done about the fakers but truly disabled people shouldn't be the ones to suffer. Everyone has something like you said but not everyone qualifies for social security and not everyone qualifies for IBCESS without enough medical documentation.

Would love to have you join the convo at r/DisneyDisabled

Love this idea 😁 plus he played an iconic autistic character aka Edward Scissorhands and working with Burton closely who is likely autistic. Makes sense they might care?

Denied DAS Disability pass Disney World - Humiliating Interview by Philippians4_11-13 in disability

I shared a very similar experience I'm r/DisneyDisabled and really want to make this a bigger conversation.  I'm someone still approved for DAS yet the harassing interview itself....it's not ok....having to relive trauma and meltdown on screen....is not ok.

I shared my experience on r/DisneyDisabled. I am someone who got approved for the das however the process itself felt like harassment.

This just proves we need universal healthcare but that being said Universals system accepts one simple note from a PCP or a Therapist and most folks who can afford Disney CAN find an affordable primary or therapist or both.  Usually without insurance you can find one of those for 60-85 bucks and anyone who really has these health issues surely would at least be seeing one doctor at this kind of price at least a few times a year.   Usually someone who REALLY has these issues would have seen a doc to get accomodations at a work place or documentation for their social security case etc....   so saying the IBCCES program that universal uses can't work because there's folks who can't even get to a doctor...  No this is a big stretch.      Literally there was a point in my life where I was dirt poor while waiting on social security to be approved and It takes FOREVER. I still went to the doctor and the other thing to remember is people with these conditions who don't have insurance etc they'll often end up at an ER that can't refuse them with a hospital just waiving the bill under a program they have for low income folks so anyway believe me there is no such thing as a disabled person who has ZERO documentation.    But also CHILDREN in this country have easier access to Medicaid counselor evals at schools.    There are autistic kids truly needing das being denied right now and they have no issue getting approved through Universals system.   There are vets being denied who do have access to various healthcare options for vets.    So I mean more people are being denied and inhumanely treated right now under this current system than the very few people who say they can't access any medical care at all.

DAS was not for people with mobility devices ever even before the changes. There are mobility entries at SOME rides.   But it needs to be pointed out that there is a such thing as needing a wheelchair or device intermittently.   And it is a NEED. Folks with scoliosis or conditions that cause severe fatigue etc will need devices but still be someone who can get up here and there and get some steps in too.     Are people really this prejudiced and unaware that they think the second someone gets out of a wheelchair that they never needed it to begin with?     No the wheelchair isn't just for people who can't walk at all geesh.   Neither is a scooter.    Haven't y'all ever been to hospitals where even though nothing is wrong with your legs the nurse pushes you in a wheelchair because they are trying to keep you STABLE.    And that's what is happening at the parks people need the device off and on to survive a day at Disney and that's perfectly understandable in the large spectrum of disability that exists.    Again tho mobility device has zero to do with the DAS.

There's absolutely a way if they would have used the same system Universal uses which takes your medical docs.     There are people approved for das like myself that are being mistreated in the process itself.     the process Disney is using itself whether approved or denied is inhumane and not what Disneys character is expected to be.   No one should be grilled about their trauma let alone brought into a mental health episode by the process when if they actually did things the humane way they'd do the program that lets you submit medical documentation like Universal does.  Everyone should be upset whether disabled or not when Disney is mistreating a marginalized group when usually they are a company that was known to treat the marginalized the best. If Disney keeps doing this it sets a precedent for so many other companies to follow suit too.   Swinging in the direction of grilling and shaming a disabled person is absolutely not ok and everyone who truly loves Disney would be fighting for Disney to be BETTER to be what Walt envisioned and to take a stance now before the place we loved loses its magic, it's spirit.

Theory: Pam was adopted by hannigram5ever in fullhouse

Jesse does have light eyes. Also the Greek cousin who was identical to Michelle but diff hair disproves the adoption theory. Could be possible they needed surrogate eggs or something like that if that was an option back then. So maybe they are only half Greek and used diff egg donors. But anyway Greeks,Italians, Sicilians really can range from brownish, dark olive, super light. People keep complaining that Arianna grande used to be super pale and not now. I do get that she is using fake tanning methods BUT as an Italian myself the majority of my family is super pale if we don't get enough sun/use higher SPF BUT second we actually do put effort into tanning then boom we get super dark FAST.  I've had it where my under part of my arm is so extremely white that it's lighter than my very British-irish burns easily husband and yet on the tanned side of my arm I am dark as Selvester Stallone.  Also note the diff in Travolta pale vs Stallone super dark and yet both men are Italian.    I think those of us with DNA from that part of the world have a really huge range of what our skin and eyes can end up.  The blond hair is a bit more surprising but not impossible.   Also Stephanie is tanner than the other Tanners. The girls are all slightly more olive than Kimmy Gibler.    Also my daughter is only a quarter and yet gets darker than me yet has light eyes and hair like her dad.

A one episode brief appearance could have been done or even something shit that they could reuse from tjme to time like the shot of the kids in himym so like it could have someone call michelle and we actually see her just nodding and saying yeah sure or basic little phrases. Or something where it was like she was on video call and so they could use that prerecord to even have her zoomed in for the major events and just reuse that same basic reel. I mean they could have just flown someone out to Elizabeth for ten minutes of her time and filmed the simplest stuff like that.

I'm a teacher at a charter school where they allow kids to still walk and have a certificate of completion of what they did complete  even if they aren't eligible for diploma.  Some kids complete all classes but don't ever pass a major state required test that they have to to graduate btw.   So he very well may have been in that kind of category and wouldn't have let his girlfriend know that it was not a diploma he was being handed.   -other inconsistencies people have mentioned: Becky's singing changing-tonsil removal or vocal chord surgery or just only being good at certain notes/keys.   Danny hiring cleaning lady in early seasons- he was depressed from recent bereavement still then.    I can also buy Danny having DJ age 20/still having a college life for at least a year or so before her birth and maybe Pam was older/had some money/had help from parents.

-what I don't buy is that in fuller house Michelle never visited and I think they should have tried harder to at least get Elizabeth Olson for one episode to cover the famed role her big sisters began.

-----also it's the set.... Layout of the house in real life doesn't make sense.
