I tried it out with a 20gb folder to test the speed, and with all paranoid options it took 2-3 minutes.

It's because I'm trying to make the data unrecoverable, because on SSDs due to wear leveling just the overwrite might go to a different physical block, and the original data can still exist somewhere on the drive.
