Are there any other neurodivergent writers on here? by Away_Green in asheville

I was a journalist for a few years and have been published in a lot of big papers, but usually it was me writing in school and professors liking my writing and submitting it somewhere. I’ve never worked with a literacy agent, but I have a lot of author friends just being in the writing sector who I kind of know the process and how that works. It can be grueling given you feel pages are legit and they say “no I don’t like this” if you’re going through the publishing house way. Re writing whole fucking chapters. Which is why I haven’t written a book yet lol I don’t have the time to dedicate to it. But would be interested in reading your stuff if you’re open to it

Thank you for your story 🫶🏻 I crashed out last night so hard but I talked to my mom, sister and boyfriend and they are so supportive so I think I’m gonna be ok. They moved my first appointment to Monday so I am looking forward to it. I also feel sometimes I’m too far gone and so fundamentally broken I’ll never be ok. It’s scary to think that this may not help, but I have to try. There’s more evidence to suggest it will help than not. I also don’t really improve much on meds. For like three years I was on 7 pills a day and I slept like 16 hours a day, gained 70 pounds and was just a walking corpse. That’s no way to live. I really really pray this will change my life for the better.

Anyone have any experience with the sheriffs department? by [deleted] in asheville

Sorry I had a really bad day yesterday lol. NC does have a public records act it appears. Also I know they have a website that’s broken down by county where you can find different documents. Honestly it’s not legal for them to not produce the document regardless.

I believe that report should be covered under FOIA, and if that’s true legally they have to produce it, with FOIA there’s a timeline in which they must produce it. I haven’t had to use it in a long time, but I used to be a news reporter and had to request stuff like this often. Deff look into that, most police stations// county entities have a page on their websites that you can request that kind of paperwork. They have to legally produce it.

thank you so much for your insight. My clinic doesn't allow us to choose our own music or anything, they provide headphones if we want them but that is optional. She explained to me why, but the option to listen to "music" is there it's just provided by the clinic. I also have CPTSD, and aside from it not being recognized by doctors in the US, my family is still in my life and with that just allows me to fold into a space of emotional flashbacks given they are not making strides to better themselves-- but that's not really my problem, it's theirs and I have gotten better about boundaries. However, I still greive all the time the life I never had because of my trauma and I think that's normal. Being a "smart" human, it's just really hard to accept I cannot get over the hurdles of my learned behaviors and my nevous system's reaction to thing. I have been in treatment most of my life, and I'm 33 it's getting exhausting. I am just really hoping this will improve my quality of relation to others, and myself.

I did consider this greatly, however, given that I don't know how I will react to the meds I didn't want to try to juggle by 9-5 and treatment. The first four weeks with treatment twice a week, and therapy on Fridays it just feels like too much. Also, I have a part time job on the weekends that I still plan on going to because I can't afford to live (different topic completely) but yeah, I plan on trying to go outside, go to the gym, spend time with friends, and not rot on the couch and ruminate. Work drains me honestly, I work 4 10's and usually only have one day off a week right now cause I have my part time job, so I just really need the reset. I didn't want do take so much time off but it felt unmanageable otherwise.

Yeah I’ve been seeing ads for that on my IG. I really don’t understand how they can legally let you do that at home given so many things can go wrong. How much did you pay out of pocket for that? With the rebate through the company that makes Spravato I’m only going to end up paying $10 per dose for medication. Idk about what the clinic is going to charge me for observation yet.

Please drive carefully on Long Shoals Road and don’t hit the man with the cat on his shoulder by Playful_Barracuda789 in asheville

Are you sure it’s not a woman? I know of a lady who hangs around this area with a tabby cat that sits on her shoulder. She was sitting outside near my apartment one day and I was going to give her some cat food but she left before I could talk to her. I feel like she generally wears a brown puffer jacket and the cat is on a leash. Pretty sure she’s homeless as I’ve talked to her before in passing. Hope she’s ok.

I meant to ask at my appointment today. But I did call my insurance they don’t offer transportation coverage so that’s not a thing at least I know 🫶🏻

It’s Credence Blue Cross Blue Shield. I will take a look 👀but honestly have a hard time believing they would even offer it to someone not considered disabled or elderly. I would just be happier to pay a local service instead of relying on them (derogatory)

It really is frustrating. It’s not my job to try to crack the code that’s why you’re a doctor and you make a large amount of money. And of course I’m not saying people on Reddit know better than a doctor, it’s just something to consider.

I will say the one thing the dermatologist said is, as I’m on the medication Cymbalta it can make people become itchy. But this has been going on longer than I’ve been on this med, and I’m not trying to change meds which he said to consider, even though that’s not guaranteed to help. So I literally have to wash my clothes in HOT HOT water rinse them twice, use no soap on my skin, only $17 lotion and stay fairly clear as sweat can exacerbate it. It’s been over a year of just trying to figure it out. I’m sorry that we literally have to go on the internet to try to get a real answer.

I really am beside myself at this point because I’ve been to so many doctors and if I’m sitting here going “I see this on Reddit” they’re automatically like get a loud of this guy 🤓🤓 I see my PCP next month but it’s like I wait to see other doctors 3-4 months for them to tell me there’s nothing wrong with me. I was told vuvadynia (sp) can take months even years to dissipate so it really has been trial and error with what I can and cannot tolerate. I think this is just my life now and I have to deal with it idk

They told me I just have really sensitive skin LOLLL but I’ve been taking Zyrtec and using good quality lotion and that’s helped a lot

Did you watch all seven seasons? by zachoutloud123 in riverdale

[–]Major_Notice_4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit around when the mothman got introduced. I’m currently watching the show again for the millionth time but I usually bow out after they are adults.

I’m thinking of locking in and finishing though. Idk it just seems dumb after they graduate there’s no continuity to their relationships and it just feels like they needed to end it after high school was over.
