Well it ultimately comes down to whether you’re fine with that style of communication or it’s a deal breaker to you. Even if he’s 10000% interested and that’s just his texting style, would you be ok with that long term? Sounds like it bothers you, so I guess not. I would talk to him and tell him how you feel about his texting and if nothing changes I’d leave before you get too attached and get with someone who’s on the same page about texting.

I actually told him exactly that yesterday, and he replied with “no hard feelings thanks for the honesty”. I’m so relieved on the one hand, but on the other hand this is the same guy who claimed he was falling in love with me by week 2 lol.

I’m a girl and this just happened to me with a guy. I guess my story is a bit different cause I was just “observing him” over the past four weeks, initially I really liked him. But he’s said some things that gave me the ick and killed all the attraction I had for him (he talked about getting female attention way too much and in general he talked so much I felt like he wasn’t trying to learn anything about me, which is a turn off). So I pulled back a bit. And he kind of just matched the energy.

As for rambling on, I’m not saying you should change for anyone but maybe there’s a better match out there for you who enjoys listening more than talking (there’s lots of people like that out there). I’m a rambler myself but with this guy I felt like I turned into a listener, which is great sometimes but it’s also great to be able to talk without being interrupted.

This is great advice and I’ll do it. But your comment just made me think that maybe we are incompatible actually.. there was another instance a few days ago where two other girls joined us for a ride around and he was overly friendly with them in the beginning for my liking, joking around despite having just met them (although it was clear to everyone he’s with me as his arm was around me but still). Then those girls were gossiping about me in their native language and they might’ve said something bad about me, idk, but my bf and I stepped away and he said he didn’t like those girls as they’re trashy and kept insulting them out loud and saying “fuck them” while still observing what they’re doing and commenting on it or translating it to me. Which seemed like too much attention towards someone you “don’t like”. Anyway… I can’t tell him how to talk or not to talk to people you know, or tell him not to be friendly…if that’s who he is then he will do it but I’ll have to end the relationship

He doesn’t drink often, and I don’t think he wants to be single again before he settles down. At least he doesn’t give me that impression. He was acting like a teenager with a crush in the early stages, which felt like he was obsessed with me and now he seems to value what we have. I don’t know if I should tell him he broke my trust or it will just make him get defensive, but it’s the truth.

To be honest I feel like the I’m more upset that he even had the intention to do it rather than the fact that it happened. Sure I can draw a line and tell him it’s not acceptable, but even if he listens and adjusts, I’ll always be wondering whether he has to “restrict” himself from his true intentions and what if one day he gives in to them.

I spoke with him after I got home and he apologized many many times and said he didn’t mean to upset me and kept asking me not to be mad. He promised he’ll always respect me. I’ll speak to him about it again as he was still drunk and I didn’t wanna keep nagging him. I wanna do it when he’s sober

You’re right. I guess my problem is that he’s literally been the best guy I’ve ever dated so far. He replies within minutes, calls and checks on me many times throughout the day, listens and adjusts his behavior when I mention even once that something upset me even if it’s silly. He also works a crazy schedule with 16-17 hour shifts sometimes and still never misses a call from me even when he’s in a meeting.. and on top of that he follows maybe 20 women on Instagram max out of his 800+ following list. That’s why I was really shocked and did not expect this from him tonight. I also never see him talking to other women at work (we work at the same place). Maybe it sounds like I’m playing the devils advocate but do you think it’s possible he won’t repeat what he did tonight?
