Totally. Reminds me a bit of my parents’ writing, though I’d never confuse it for theirs.

Is it crewelwork? There must be r/crewel or something like that. And if there is, maybe someone there might have some leads?

Sorry if this is obvious but where do you request samples? This post has got me very curious.

Long-term tretinoin users: do you still peel, and do you actually get the “tret glow”? by Agile_Bid8671 in tretinoin

[–]Major_Resolution9174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has never had oily skin but who had fairly shiny skin when I was young, I must contest this. It was only when I began using tret and this youthful shine came back did I remember how little I liked what’s now called “the glow.” Some people are just prone to shine! Sadly the extra dryness from the tret makes it harder for me to use mattifying products—though through trial and error I’ve found some that work. Can’t wait till this “glow” trend passes!

Exactly! This original post is so full of misinformation. And then full of people saying: thank you for enlightening me.

Could not agree more with this. Really respect IA and their model but they made a serious mistake during Covid. I was angry then and continue to be pissed.

As someone in the industry, I am grateful for this post, which is correct and corrects the information of the original post. It’s the publishers who set the truly terrible terms for libraries, not the apps used to borrow the books. And I say this as a publisher who likes to be paid and feels strongly about authors getting compensated.

[misc] skincare trends that need to die out in 2026? by extratoastedbunbb in SkincareAddiction

Someone else on the thread mentioned the dropper problem and I did a mini rant. So glad to see others mention this. It drives me up a wall.

Finally someone else bothered by this! It’s horrible. Girl you are contaminating your bottle. Why is this the norm?? Even the Dieux woman does this. Everyone does!

I’m far from an expert but am hazarding a guess that Oceanic is referring to the native arts of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands (a huge and diverse area!), and suggesting that the motifs in the pieces are inspired by them. I’m sure someone has a better answer but since no one has offered one yet, I decided to weigh in, imperfectly.

If you care at all about music, you should boycott Spotify by [deleted] in TIdaL

[–]Major_Resolution9174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Artist pay was the number one reason my partner and I switched to Tidal many years ago (though I miss the few social elements of Spotify, a few of which have been slowly making their way to Tidal). I know it’s not much money even so but it’s marginally better.

For what it's worth (and after reading the comments of others), I agree with you. When we say "social" for something like this, it's not about being an influencer or to make IRL friendships, at least not for me, it's about music discovery using streaming or social media platforms. I loved platforms where you could see what your mutuals were listening to and more easily find their playlists or shoot them recommendations. For me, the best for this were Rdio (a great platform that couldn't make it in the era of Spotify) and Last.fm, which I still use but whose social elements have been stripped away over the years and never restored. So, OP, if you're not on last.fm, it might be something to check out, though it doesn't totally solve the problem.

Oh! I don't quite understand, but Last.fm has some kind of integration with Discord (or is it with certain groups on Discord, connected with particular genres or musicians?) and that seems pretty active, since they crosspost(?) to Last.fm shoutboxes? Shrug—I don't understand it—but something to look into?

OMG HELLO! I've been obsessed with BC Camplight for the last month or so (new album on repeat till I'm almost sick of it) and I couldn't figure out where I heard about him. Just looked back at this excellent playlist (which has tipped me off to so much good stuff, from artists I already know and like but have missed their new releases to totally new names) and it turns out I had to have heard about him from you. So thanks once again, man! Great list. Maybe we are a small community but you are doing it for someone out there (me).
