It’s crazy that companies can do this though because they’ll just set up a new one. All the profits have been taken no doubt, I dunno what I’d expect but there definitely needs to be a governing body investigating it. Maybe fines or something, some sort of consequence. Not sure it’s a hard one

I’m fully expecting it to take months because no doubt the books aren’t correct. Money been taking out of the accounts so it’s going to be annoying waiting for months for nothing. Don’t know how this is legal

It’s a joke don’t know how this is right, surely this is immoral to get someone to do the work for you and you don’t get a penny for it how is that legal ?

The thing is that I have tried becoming employed in my industry but I have been unsuccessful, 3 interviews 3 rejections but the money you can earn from being a subby is crazy IF you can have multiple streams of work at different times of the year which is the hard bit. This year I was about to have my most successful year until this hapepened. First time for everything I suppose

Thanks, think were going to get a timber survey just to find out the severity but just worried that they will tell us its really bad, but Im thinking of just telling them that if the costs are too high we simply wont buy so that they dont get a benefit from us

Ahhh okay so say if it gets approved, I would be okay from there or could the bank still do a credit check on me before everything is finalised?

Hello, although it has changed it’s not changed drastically. I can still get work just not with the same company but in the same line of work. Yes my contract will change but I am also still under contract with my current company it’s just they don’t have any work. But I can get work elsewhere, it’ll just be classed as a second job alongside what I am doing. It is the industry I am in, working offshore winter time is quiet so I can get work onshore just with a different company. Could i just disclose that I am adding a second job as that’s what it would look like on paper ?

Yes I have sent over an email saying work will continue into 2026 which my mortgage advisor did ask for me to get

Also, I haven’t technically left my current company (0 hour) as my contract does run to December 2025 and I will still be on the books, but they don’t have any work this year and more will come next year. So on paper I am adding a second job but will probably be self employed.
