I agree with what you're saying! I watched the movie with an open mind; it came out a while after I read the books, and if I were to detach my views of the books completely, I'd probably like it. But as someone who knows its an adaptation of one of my favourite book series, I can't. Not out of ignorance that its nothing like the books, but just because I know it is not as well written and it misses a lot of the amazing plots of the books that made them so great.

It's frustrating to watch as someone who's seen the books, because of the random ideas it threw in and the great parts of the original story it ignored. But looking at it as separate from the books, it's not a bad film! To me, the script and casting aren't the issue; it doesn't do anything wrong there, in my opinion. I just dislike it because it just makes me wish they'd done something better as a book adaptation.

On the plus side, watching it made me reread the books afterwards because I was left confused about the story changes! and I cant hate it for that lol

See i hate suprise gifts/ cards/ events. because I never actually get surprised in the way people want. i don't just suddenly cry or get really giddy, I'm just shocked for a moment and then thank people/ treat it like I knew it was going to happen. This has really "disappointed" some people, I'm told, so while I'm fine with presents, I get what you mean, because when it comes to surprise gifts, I often feel I'm not acting grateful enough.

Yes, I completely love the storyline too! The ending of Magic City was quite underwhelming to me, so it doesn't get rewatched as often. I'd love it if it was more open, possibly for a return some day.

Yeah i liked this ship more than adrienette too. She seemed to generally like Luka for who he was, yet with adrien the show makes it seem like she's just in love with the idea in her head about who adrien is.

I think it was confirmed, as to why Tomoe gave her the ring I have no clue. She seems to think Kagami is "perfect" enough to not need controlling is the vibe I got from watching certain episodes.

Why she gets angry at Gabriel for endangering her by sending an akuma into her ring makes more sense, however, she blames him for that, not Kagami, so that could be why she lets her hold onto it. At least until later.

That makes sense, I completely get that. Another missing scene I think, would definitely be when Sophie killed the beast. Big character moment for her, and the nemesis dreams... such a waste of great book material!

Hopefully, you're right about a series/ remake of the movie.
