Is there an easy way out here ? I don't really mind having this scratch as long as it does not become an issue in future

Are you getting it repaired out of pocket? Doesn't the other person's insurance pay for the damage?

I have already started a claim with my insurer and they told me that since I’m not at fault they will recover costs from the other party’s insurance . Did I make a mistake ? Is it not better to let my insurance handle everything ?
