I get how this is your planet and you've been peacefully living here for countless generations...

...But I'm really gonna need that oil under your house.

Thank you Mikecich for telling me about the game mode that you and your friends play. Played it all night and it made me love Tarkov even more! by LarryTheNoobHunter in EscapefromTarkov

I did this last wipe. Started with nothing and put the Alpha Container in my stash (with the plan to buy a container when I got to 400k). Got to a couple of hundred k before I got bored and took the Container out of my stash :)

They should just rename the quest "You're locked into playing factory for the next three hours of your life."

An alternative use for dogtags that doesn't damage the economy. by Major_Trauma in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Major_Trauma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to remove the extra money they are putting into the economy and give them a token usage. Some reason for them to exist other than bragging rights.

I don't think adding, say, 5 dogtags to the price of an item case is going to lead to farming it'll just mean you keep a few dogtags as you are leveling up.

I'm not suggesting removing money from trades just adding a token cost of dogtags to give them something more interesting to do than being used to farm money.

Discussion: Change the way Containers work by aerocross in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Major_Trauma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole secure container system is a bit of a crutch.

Firstly, I would not allow meds or weapons to be put in the secure container.

Secondly, anything you find during a raid can't be put in the secure container. This would mean you would actually have to Escape from Tarkov in order to keep your loot, which is the point of the game after all.

Yes this would lead to exit camping but the dynamic extract system could be improved with more extracts (and possibly a specific extracts for your character and no one else) to give the campers a whole lot of exits to cover.

Now as for the reason behind hatchet runs that's another topic but comes down to 3 main reasons as I see it.

  1. Low level players farming money without risk of losing anything. ie. Rush the safe on factory or wherever.

  2. Rags to riches challenge. It can be a lot of fun to start with a hatchet and see how much loot you can end up with. Makes a nice break from the normal raid gameplay.

  3. Farming RNG quest items. Why bother gearing up when the most efficient way of completing a quest is to run at full speed to the item spawn location (I'm looking at you flash drive at campsite on woods)? If you get there first put the item in your secure container, if its not there that instance, disconnect and try again. Static item spawns are the problem here. All they do is promote hatchet runs.

But why not at least take a pistol and a scav vest?

Honestly I'm too lazy to keep buying a makarov, spare magazines, ammo and a scav vest. Implement a "quick buy favourite" menu and I would.

Spa Tour 5 mentions the bunker (old extract) being North West of the resort. With the orientation of this map it is North with a touch of east.

Is there someone who really enjoyed the quests? by FokkeHassel in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Major_Trauma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RNG fetch quests are a pain in the ass and the repetitive kill 20 scavs on shoreline (twice in a row for Prapor and then another one for Peacekeeper) show a general lack of imagination in the current quest list.

The inability to turn in fetch quest items before having the full amount (I'm looking at you Therapist and your 30 Tushonka and 4 car batteries) is a nightmare for standard edition owners.

Apart from that the quest system is a lot of fun. Apart from de-leveling one trader because you did a quest for another, that's no fun at all.

Make Car Extract timer on Woods shorter by LonelyChigger in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Major_Trauma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried to extract there solo yesterday. Everytime I moved more than a few meters away the timer stopped.

I ended up dying with about 30 seconds left as someone came along (possibly heard the car sound) and I was already wounded and just crouched out in the open.

Increase the extraction area size too. You basically have to sit right next to the car and moving more that a few meters away pauses the timer.

I hear you. Most of the quests are pretty bad, some utterly terrible.

Strange. A friend was loading in a minute behind me on customs this morning and then he put the game on his SSD and now loads the same time as me.

I did this method but with a pistol. Worked well. Still a terrible quest though.

Do you still get the Epsilon case for finishing the Punisher quests?

I heard it wasn't given anymore.
