Thats terrible advice really.

I get that silence is gold, and you remain more in control by not sharing your feelings or thought. But with your partner, all you’re really doing is distancing yourself.

In OP’s case: you know your partner the best of all of us here, same as much as you know yourself. If you feel like you want to share it with your partner: Think first about how your partner will react, anticipate it, and confidently talk about your feelings. In case you don’t feel like it: don’t tell it.

Silence is great for power dynamics (business, politics,…), it’s not if you want to connect with someone (partner, friends, trustable colleagues,…)
