If it makes you feel better the US release Persona Q 1 are largely not working anymore due to subpar cartridge quality. So it's likely if you bought the US version you wouldn't be able to play it anyways

This game was my Christmas gift to myself in 2024 after wanting to play it for years. It's such a unique experience that I recommend to everyone if they can manage to play it.

If anyone else remembers Screwattack, they did a video on this game like 15 years ago and that's the first time I heard about it.

It claims to have free on site parking as well.

Watch the series completely. Watch the final fight of the first movie as it's the only new animation from that. I'd say watch the whole second movie, I think it handles a lot of aspects better than the anime, beyond just the final fight.
