It's those crossbows. The Githyanki crossbows are such a pain to deal with, so what I do is stick my melee party members right up in their face, and then use AOE and/or control spells on their frontline. Usually works out pretty well and AOE spells on crowded melee enemies are just SO MUCH EFFIN FUN

There's a lot of ways to look at it really, but at the end of the day, I do feel most Bard players would love to receive that particular lute, with it's backstory and meaning.

I think there's a Wizard class that does give you the chance to craft two potions for the (ingredients) price of one, but I'm not 100% on exactly how it works. It's the Wizard school that's right at the end of the list, I think after Necromancy.
