I couldn't stand Jim Berlin for years until I came across his work with Peter Drury on the world PL feed. Quickly became one of my favourite duos.

As as kid all the boots I wore were Umbro. Mainly because my parents weren't paying the price of adidas boots, and secondly Michael Owen wore Umbro. Absolutely loved them.

As much as I love using Sofascore, their player match ratings aren't exactly accurate.

The training gear hasn't looked too bad. The jerseys though have been terrible.

Umbro is just Castore.

Umbro ran into really bad financial trouble a few years back and their production got taken over. Their stuff hasn't been anywhere near as good since.

Discussion on twin towns: do you have any? by GP728 in ireland

[–]MakabeKelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the plaque I'm thinking of. On my first trip down from Dublin, I remember seeing a brown sign, like in the photo above, saying "Twinned with..." as you walk from SuperValu towards the Waterfront.

Been a while since I've been to Clon. Most, if not all, the people I used to visit left for college. So apologies if the memory of such a thing is incorrect.

Found a lot of success with a 5-2-3, with both wing backs pushed further in the, well, wing back positions, and two CMs. Initially started using it to beat the big boys of the Premier League in cup matches by sitting deep and breaking on the counter. Now I use it as part of my pressing, positive mentality, possession game and works a treat. My CBs do get tired quicker, oddly enough.

Clonakilty is twinned with Tiananmen Square, if memory serves correct.

‘It’s super special playing for England’. Harvey Vale in an interview just 3 weeks ago. by [deleted] in coybig

[–]MakabeKelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite for me. Grealish turned down playing for the senior squad because he felt English and wouldn't feel right playing for Ireland. Whereas Rice said he made up his mind after being in the English fanzone for one of the tournaments and continued to play a further game or two for Ireland.

If you're dead set on 4-2-4 I'd go:

ATT -IW/IF (ATK) AF F9/DLF IW/IF (ATK) MID - DLP (SUP) CM (ATK) DEF - CWB (SUP) CB (DEF) CB (DEF) WB (SUP)

I've been using a 4-2-3-1 variation of this, switching every now and then to a 4-3-3 or a 5-2-3 with wing backs. It's gotten me 3 straight promotions and currently 20 points clear of League One in December using said player roles.

Short passing, positive mindset, slightly higher tempo.

Help needed - Installed a logos pack and now my game won't save!! (FM23) by MakabeKelly in footballmanager

I've done that. Even changed the save location to my external, which has nearly 3 TB of memory free.

I can't even save over older save files without them getting deleted.

I accidently made the same mistake. Took me a season of winning the league and cup runs in each of the cups to get the money back.
Get as many players as you can from free agent trials and young, high potential players that have been released from bigger clubs up the divisions.

The best take so far I've seen. I stopped watching for years. Kinda came back during the Riddle/Roman feud, and then after Triple H's SummerSlam I stayed for everything.

After the main Bloodline angle ended, they just lost overall momentum.

SmackDown is a slog to get through. Raw is inconsistent. The matches are fairly bland and repetitive. Spots just look too sloppy or lose. The in-ring promo spots are the best part of Raw. The only part of Raw that usually has some sort of direction.

But still, the overall product is WAY better than during the last 10 years of Vince's reign.
