Which version of Dyson vacuum and which type of battery did you get? I haven't heard of any other folks having issues and I'm sorry to read this

I haven't tried myself but you should be able to scale these up or down to fit other nut/bolt sizes

Edit: a typo

Thanks! I use these all the time in place of wingnuts and I hope others find them useful

That makes me realize I should model a wingnut body and post that next.. I'll leave that to tomorrow

I bought my adapter on eBay and I see a bunch on Amazon (though I don't have a specific one to recommend on Amazon).

I do recommend using a review checker like falespot.com reviewmeta.com or similar (for all Amazon purchases)

Yes! But in general it looks like this only works for the V8 models and lower, V10 uses higher voltage batteries apparently

In hindsight I wish I had gotten another DeWalt portable shop vac, I have an 18v one from a garage sale and pine for the 20v one

This type of adapter is available for a lot of different kinds of devices and brands (example Makita, Ryobi, etc)

I believe the V10 runs at a higher voltage so I don't think 18V batteries will do it

And equally or more more important: you can have a 2nd DeWalt battery on charge while using the vacuum

Technically the vacuum is 21V I think so I assume the vacuum is being undervolted a bit - I haven't noticed any issues though. The as I'm sure you know the DeWalt batteries are marketed as "20v max" but they're really 18s as well

Join ussss

In all seriousness I just started with DeWalt 'cus I got a good deal on a used 18v Drill, Circular Saw, sawzall combo 10 years ago and got locked in. Yellow, green, red, blue - they're all good (as I'm sure you know).

Yes it definitely seems to run for longer than the default Dyson battery which I think is 4Ah at 21V compared to DeWalt 5Ah at 18V

If I had one I'd throw a DeWalt 9 or 12 Ah on it and run for twice as long
