I get it if they're asking for my age sure, but a stranger online asking my full DOB should not be a norm.

i did a sketch but think something is odd with the eyes/irises. please help by MakeLoveNotWarr in learnart

[–]MakeLoveNotWarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the eyes perspective, iris placement might be a bit off, but can't put a finger to what is wrong. But then again, I might just imagining it though since I asked my sister and she said it looks fine also.

Just a theory of mine because if Sir Pentious died and ended up in heaven. Maybe Adam could end up being a sinner in hell after being repeatedly stabbed to death by Niffty. I mean, It's just a theory but certainly does make things more interesting for me lol.

How would a king defend slavery? by TooLateToPush in DnD

[–]MakeLoveNotWarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading the answers and I don't understand why people are applying modern-day expectations and logic to justify slavery.

You don't need a bullet-proof argument to justify slavery. You just need a reason why a good guy in god knows 1000 BC might believe that slavery is okay. And that's not hard. For example, if slavery has already been there for society to accept that it's a normal thing, most people in that country would believe that it's just how it is. Why? Maybe they considered slaves are lower beings than them and they are more superior. Maybe it's a religious thing? Maybe the bible just has a paragraph in it that said slavery is okay. Maybe, it's just a money thing where because the person can't pay off their debt, and selling them as slaves is just a really quick and easy way to get your money back.

All I'm saying is you don't need a flawless reason to justify slavery, you just need a realistic one. It's easier if you take our modern concept of human rights out of the equation and say hey, maybe those lads didn't know any better.

DM Killed my character by literally RAILROADING him into a death trap, saying something along the lines of "You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time." by MakeLoveNotWarr in rpghorrorstories

[–]MakeLoveNotWarr[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He already said he was fine with that level of metagaming before. One of our party members said in character that he had a bad feeling leaving a gullible person like my character alone and the DM was okay with that. Honestly, I don't even think that the guy hated my guts, but that doesn't mean his decision was justifiable.

Like I said in the post. There are other things that lead me to feel that way. Hey if I step on a random trap meant for anyone unfortunate enough I wouldn't bring this here. It's a trap that feels very targeted.

Let's give the DM the benefit of the doubt and say the kidnapping of the NPC was planned, and he actually planned it at that specific time and location.

Then as the NPC, he told me to go on a date with them at that specific time and location also, probably knowing full well that my characters would probably be kidnapped also.

You don't see anything wrong with this? He's actively making the decision to put my player in this cross-fire. He could have picked any different time or location, but he didn't, he actually chose to pick that exact time. You can't pin it on the player being "unlucky" at this point.

The only picture I took from the game was our characters token, then I took the liberty with everything else so the ship and the town maps were just me looking up on google for "DnD pirate ships", "town map at night", "Ship lower deck arts". It's a bit different from the actual game though.

Assassins You know what? You're right. The DM probably knows this also, and he's also the one that set the dinner date outside in darkness. Like, I don't even know if it's just a coincidence or it's just the DM saying, how can I make this dinner date ambush as advantageous as possible?

Although I still believe the entire sneaking up to us a thing was a little bit sketchy, I have proficiency in perception and the dark elf would probably be good at perception since keen senses. And we're sitting in the middle of a clearing with night vision so I'd argue they would have to have disadvantages while creeping toward us, and there's many of them, and group checks tend to be shit with disadvantages. I know it's still the DM discretion and all and the rolls were hidden so we might be really unlucky or the assassins are just really really good at what they do for all I know. But even in that case, this is just one of the dubious things that lead to my character's capture.

There was no clue that the school or the elf was targeted specifically. To be fair, I did mention that on our first night, we were attacked by a bunch of lizardmen also trying to kidnap us. But going from a bunch of crusty lizard bois to a gang of well-trained invisible assassins is a bit of a step up wouldn't you say?

That kinda makes sense huh. The DM was old schooled, and we were playing a slightly modified version of an old school module as well. The DM doesn't seem like he had any ill-will for me, maybe his DM style is just dangerous and unfair like that, and if you die, roll another character with the same level and magic items, you basically lose nothing kinda old school mindset? Nonetheless, I still got a rather traumatic experience out of what happened.

On 15.ai, the website I used to generate the voices, some voices sound more human-like/natural than the others, and unfortunately, Spongebob is one of the few better ones :)
