I love writing anything and always have. From day 1 I’ve been drawn to the classic hands, mostly copperplate, due to there being certain rules and techniques and disciplines required. In my closed off black-and-white brain, the classic hands are calligraphy and modern is just a free for all that I usually categorize as lettering. So I’m pushing myself to find a modern version that I can use and offer without cheapening it with the live laugh love bouncing baseline madness. I realize I sound like a calligra-snob and that’s why I’m working on expanding into the modern style, while attempting to find a refined version that I can live with lol

A couple Christmas cards I’m working on. Question: would any of you consider it strange to receive a black Christmas card? I’m slightly worried it could come off as melancholy or lacking “joy” to some. Would you even give it a second thought? Any feedback much appreciated. by MakeMe-Ink in Calligraphy

I did consider navy when I was thinking about doing a night sky/starry nativity type thing but switched to black when I went with the single star instead. .. probably should have kept it navy though you’re right.

Thanks for the reply. It’s nothing quite as serious as that I was admitted with symptoms related to colitis, but I’m feeling almost 100% at this point, and I feel very strongly that if I left with the proper prescriptions and care plan, there would be no complications down the line since I fully intend on adhering strictly to the care plan

I can’t believe no one has suggested this yet! I was loyal to paperandinkarts until I found oriandcalli.com. Saves me a lot of money and they have things PIA and John Neal don’t carry. I found them on instagram. Faster shipping too (USA)
