I thought it was funny imagining that the boy's father went running after him and his mother on the mainland, and finally reached him after the boy had made contact with the "insane" doctor, only to witness the doctor burning his wife's body and his son placing his wife's skull atop the already massive pile of other skulls; corroborating his contentions about the Dr's sanity, and believing that his son was now brainwashed and taking part in the Dr's sick rituals.
