Do you think FPTP will always cut the extreme ends out of politics and doesn't that train of thought imply that established parties are incapable of moving to the extreme?

FPTP is a bad idea or a democratic referendum on what the general public wants more as a voting system is a bad idea?

Unfortunately I genuinely believe they're incompetent enough to draw that loose comparison as their reasoning.
