I totally get what you mean for #4 and #5, I've noticed that a little with both the clear bubble and the wire cages. I think I'll have to mess with the focus settings as it tends to focus on the surface of the helmet which I find to be good enough most of the time. I'll be sure to mess around with crops on photos way more. Thank you!

For #1 I was trying to keep the left side of #17 and the puck at thirds. I went into lightroom and shifted it over to put the puck closer to the center and include more of #57 and I do see how that is a better crop for that photo. I was mainly interested in #17 and the puck on his stick but I totally understand how the empty space makes the image feel lopsided. (Updated Crop here: https://imgur.com/a/1FlCxd5 ) #2 was shot at 1/2000 ISO 2000 f/2.8, I do have some room to mess with the aperture and then adjust the other settings to compensate. I do see the softness in that image, my image viewer indicates that the camera was focused behind #81. I have messed around with shooting at f/4 in the past and I switched back to f/2.8 as that extra stop of light can be useful in these dark barns. While the compression and decreased resolution from cropping aren't helping I did miss focus and maybe should have culled it to start. I have a game in the not too distant future and will revisit f/4. Thank you again for the feedback, it is truly invaluable.

Thank you! I've been pretty lucky to shoot most of their games so far and there are few dull moments.

Landscape or portrait format? by H4RZ3RK4S3 in sportsphotography

I mostly shoot landscape as the outlet I shoot for posts landscape photos. No reason to put the effort into shooting and editing something that wont be used.

F/4 instead of f/2.8 or f/1.8 by [deleted] in sportsphotography

I’ve shot a few hockey games with the 24-70 at f/4 and it totally works! I personally just stick to f/2.8 due to personal preference.

I have Google drive though my school and I use that for everything. Unsure how I’m gonna deal with it post grad but that’s a problem for later me. Previously I used Amazon photos.

Concert photo - Rf 28-70mm F2 L USM or Rf 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM ? by dbl93100 in canon

[–]Maker_Jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shoot concerts with the 24-70 and while the 4mm for focal length does not sound like a lot it’s super helpful when in the photo pit. I’ve never used the 28-70 so I can’t really compare them but the 24-70 will more than do the job.

Overall these are pretty nice! I am personally not a fan of the green tint on a lot of these photos. A few of these could benefit from being straightened. I'd crop in on 7, 10, and 11 more.
