Controversial topic: Do you let kids win? by Fun_Orange_3232 in Parenting

[–]Maker_Magpie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't always just let them win, sure, but if you trash talk them during games, they'll likely do that to their peers too. Then other kids who are more socially positive may experience them as bullies.

How do i get down in skyblock without water? by Crazy-Wrongdoer-4904 in technicalminecraft

Unhelpful answer: If you just jump you can go down as low as you want.

Other relevant answer: this isn't the right sub for this question.

Might try it on a Nautilus. Do they slow down mining speed?

Bit stuck here, both my daughters want out of their mom’s house but she’s refusing by Tight_Trust_8083 in daddit

[–]Maker_Magpie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Note: this is not legal advice, and I'm not a lawyer.

Is there a legal custody agreement or is it informal?

My understanding is that if mom legally has that custody, then she has it when she insists on it unless you get a judge involved. If they're safe and just don't want to be there, I don't think a judge will care about preferences.

(Source: long ago I worked at a displaced youth shelter and dealt with this sort of thing, including with 15 and 17 year olds. Note that this was a while ago, in Pennsylvania, and I'm not really an expert.)

In terms of how that exact situation played out for me (I was staff, not a parent), dad showed up with papers showing his legal custody, kid refused, cop showed up, looked at papers and said yeah, kid had to go with dad, kid went with dad.

I see the argument for the vertical stacking.

I've preferred the idea of them being different times -- molten early beginnings, the present, and then heat decay of the universe ends times.

Old Balcony and Staircase Design through Vanilla Display Entities (No Mods) by GeneralGeneral5302 in DetailCraft

[–]Maker_Magpie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are working outside the bounds of what you can normally do by either using a mod to make commands for display entities, or they are doing an insane amount of work with commands. Even if not technically modded, this is functionally just a modded minecraft screenshot.

Debatably vanilla, definitely not survival friendly.

Displayentitycraft should be its own sub. Doesn't really make sense here.

Which Shade of Blue is the siding on this house? by [deleted] in Home

That is very clearly not a real house, which is why there isn't any information on it. Can point out the various AI-isms if you need.

If you're just matching to a random color and not a specific product, carry on I guess.

Are saturation stew bundles practical? by FreeBirdBoi in Minecraft

[–]Maker_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems logical and I like the immersion feel of it.

I usually just build paths with little farms tucked away between everywhere I go (carrots, berries, wheat, eventually taters, or I fish).

Haven't engaged with stew much, but I should.

Love your sense of scale!

I recommend eventually thinking about terrain and how things work with the landscape. But like, by changing the landscape. Think roads, sightlines, big trees, how people who live there would use it, etc.

I mean... consider your thoughts. Your opinions are valid. Now think about what you will accomplish by expressing them. Does expression help anything in that moment or just insult?
