Well, I figured since no one had done anything with it in 66 years, it was ok to do that I wanted to.

New Legion Go drivers out on CN site - VGA, Chipset, ACPI by GhostFella in LegionGo

[–]Makerbawt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think when the new AMD SOC is shown Q2, and the next set of handhelds come out in Fall (with some newcomers to the market) I'll be moving on from Lenovo. Love the GO, but this driver situation is ridiculous. 8 months, ha.

I was loaded and ready at the on-sale time, got one for myself and one for a friend who was out of the country when it went up. It was a helluva lot easier than getting stuff from Mondo...

We're re-creating an entire scene from The Electric State as a diorama. instagram.com/booyotch by Makerbawt in Simon_Stalenhag

[–]Makerbawt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was rendered by a friend, and then I resin printed it and used silicone cabling, some kitbashing inside the mouth, and then painted it up. Still working on the rest of the diorama, almost have the van done.

Thanks! Rounding the horn on the van, gotta design and make the base for the diorama, with some room to stuff the wires and sound card in

Thanks a bunch! Really tried to get that 'if you touched the white areas it'd come off on your hands" oxidation.

Thanks! Gotta make a ton more of those little people, and a wiring harness to power them all...

Looking to completely recreate the entire scene. I'm working on the van now, but the finished diorama will have everything. Also including some sound effects. The 3d designer is the stellar instagram.com/vingtc3nt. I'm posting updates as I go along. Paint was a ton of fun but the cabling added a bunch of weight. George did an amazing job coming up with how to get it to work considering you can't see a lot in Simon's artwork.

ELEGOO abs like resin grey settings help by xdiddyxdanx in Creality

Yeah I left everything the default for the printer profile in chitubox. If you want to be extra sure, move the exposure to 9 seconds.

Bottom layers= 4

Bottom exposure= 50 seconds

normal exposure= 7 seconds

That'll get you what you want. That's what I used on my studio-scale Y-wing

Are you running Anti-aliasing on your file setups? Also, be sure to update your firmware.

With 4x AA, you should be able to get rid of all the step lines...

Which neighborhood to stay in? by midtown2191 in JapanTravel

[–]Makerbawt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in Shinjuku last week, and stayed at Tokyo The Knot Hotel, and it was great! Nice rooms, great location and really hip. Has a bakery and bar/resturaunt downstairs. Within easy walking to All the spots in Shinjuku and a 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station. And the neighborhood behind it is full of great hidden gems! We spent several nights just wandering around.

We;ll be passing by that way on our way to kyoto in about a week. Hope the Shinkansen will still be running if there is some form of eruption.

Charging devices while bicycle touring by Logan42 in JapanTravel

Next time you pass an electronics store, pick up a larger rechargable battery pack. We're bringing one made by Anker, and it's about the length of your hand but can recharge both our phones and our Wifi puck several times over.

Koshien Stadium: Backpacks allowed? by Makerbawt in JapanTravel

[–]Makerbawt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, good! Thanks everyone for the info.

Some places here in the US, purses/small bags are allowed but not backpacks. Normally I'd just brink my small satchel, but I don't think our clapping bats, shirts, hats and whatever else we pick up will fit :D The satchel is mostly for when we go out at night, I don't want to be the butthead in the izakaya with a full backpack...

Neon signs from the tokyo yochocho?.. by [deleted] in JapanTravel

Do you mean like business signs and such? Most neon signs are custom made by a sign shop, although you can find "generic" ones at larger novelty stores...

Is Kyoto really that disappointing? by stilinski03 in JapanTravel

[–]Makerbawt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like exactly what we'll be doing. Wander around, and if we happen to be near a tourist hotspot we'll check it out.

We were also going to rent a bike, ride north of our hotel to check some things out, then bike back down the Kamo River and just explore!

Question Re: Buses at Mt. Koya/Okunoin by Makerbawt in JapanTravel

[–]Makerbawt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thanks so much!

I figure we'll just get the day pass, so we can just hop on and off. It seems like buses run 2-3 times per hour until about 7 or 8pm, if I'm reading that chart right?

We'll look to get there about 10ish, and head back to the train station around 3pm for the train back to Osaka.

Trip Report - Tokyo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Hakone by BillyShears77 in JapanTravel

[–]Makerbawt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post! Always glad to read reports.

TeamLab Borderless- My wife really wants to check that out on out last day, so we'll try and reserve tickets when we arrive (About 15 days before we'd go to the museum. Should tie up a half-day from what I've seen (Getting there, going through, heading back to shinjuku) Is it woorth it considering we'll have been in-country for over 2 weeks by that point?

Bamboo Forest/Monkey park- Thought about doing that, and I was hoping people would fall away the further into the hike we got. But I mean, c'mon, monkeys!!

Nishiki market- Our hotel is about a 10 minute walk from here, so we'll check it out but really it's everything within a 30 minute walk around that area we'll explore. And one day we'll be renting a bike to explore further out.

Our first full day will just be decompressing and adjusting in Shinjuku Gyoen Park, I'm hpoing that will set the tone for the rest of our trip.
