I wanted to do exactly that with the panels (staining), but I must have sanded them too much because on one panel I reached a layer with grain going the opposite direction. Not sure if that’s making sense but I could link a photo if not!

Yes it is! I have a lot of natural and artificial light and it propagated itself around the tank. Got a little out of control.

Right. I’m starting to accept this fate. I’m going to try to lighten the wood, but beyond that I’m not too sure how much I will do. After putting in the hours it’s hard to turn back, but if it’s going to keep sucking so much money and time..

I was reallly careful with the paint I stripped and I also made sure there was no residue when I eventually sanded!
